Zoom error message "You cannot log into your Zoom account using this method. Contact your IT administrator for instructions. (2,025)"

Last Updated:

When signing in to Zoom, the error message, "You cannot log into your Zoom account using this method. Contact your IT administrator for instructions. (2,025)," appears to prevent the sign-in. This means that the security settings were updated to prevent the attempted login method on the account.

The following sign-in methods can trigger this error message:

  • Work email
  • Google
  • Facebook
  • Apple ID

How to fix it

Enable sign-in methods for the account

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Advanced then Security.
  3. Under Sign-in Methods, click the following toggles to enable or disable the sign-in methods, depending on what’s regularly used in the account:
    • Allow users to sign in with work email: This allows users to sign in with an email address and password.
    • Allow users to sign in with Google: This will allow users to sign in with Google login method.
    • Allow users to sign in with Facebook: This will allow users to sign in using the Facebook login method.
    • Allow users to sign in with Apple ID: This will allow users to sign in with Apple ID on the Zoom desktop client and mobile apps.

Contact your IT team

If enabling sign-in methods for the account didn’t work, contact your internal IT team or IT administrator, as they would be able to provide more insight on the login method they prefer you to use.
