Zoom error message "You are not eligible to sign up for Zoom at this time"

Issue

Users may receive the error message "You are not eligible to sign up for Zoom at this time" when attempting to create a Zoom account.

Cause

Users under the age of 16 cannot create a Zoom account.

If you are trying to access Zoom from a restricted country, you will also be prevented from signing up for regulatory reasons.

Resolution

If you are creating a Zoom account for school use, the age requirement will be lifted if you are added to a school account. If you are creating a Zoom account independently, the age restriction will still apply. For more information, see Zoom’s Terms of Service.

If you receive this error because you entered an incorrect date of birth, clear Zoom cache and cookies from the settings before you enter the correct date of birth. If your date of birth is correct and you are not from a restricted country, follow the steps below before signing up again:

• Uninstall the app, then download and reinstall it
• Use a different device or browser
• Switch to incognito mode
