What does it mean to allow Zoom to use recording data in my account for Zoom’s product improvement?
Along with Smart Recording, admins can decide to enable or disable the Allow Zoom to use recording data in my account for Zoom’s product improvement setting. If enabled, Zoom will use your recording to help improve Zoom’s products and Smart Recording features. You can always disable the setting at any time.
Note: This feature only applies to new recordings generated after this setting is enabled.
If the meeting host has Smart Recording on and has opted to share recording data with Zoom, can I opt out of sharing with Zoom on my end?
In Zoom meetings or webinars where the host’s account has opted to share recording data with Zoom, a disclaimer will appear at the start of the recording that tells you the host is sharing recordings with Zoom. Participants can then choose whether or not to stay in the meeting or webinar.

Zoom’s machine learning model examines the end of the recording and looks for cues to identify any next steps. These can be edited by the owner of the cloud recording (the host) or a user with permission to manage cloud recordings.
Is Smart Recording considered an “AI” feature?
Yes, we are using our own machine learning model to identify chapters and next steps.
Is Smart Recording being rolled out globally?
There are no geographic restrictions for this feature, however, the Smart Recording feature is supported in English only.
