This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
    • Reorder desktop client tabs - Windows, macOS
Desktop client users can adjust the order of product tabs on the desktop client, prioritizing the products they use the most. This can be done by dragging-and-dropping the tabs directly, or under the General tab of the client settings.
  • Meeting/webinar features
    • Screen share preview - Windows, macOS, Linux
When starting a share session, the sharer can hover their mouse near the floating toolbar and view a preview of the shared content other participants are seeing on their devices. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend update currently scheduled for November 9, 2022.
    • Enhanced participants list for multi-device users - Windows, macOS
When a user pairs the Zoom desktop or mobile app with a local Zoom Room or Zoom for Home device and joins a meeting or webinar, the Participants list will display these redundant attendees grouped and nested to better convey these associations between users and devices.
  • Meeting features

In-meeting chat is being enhanced to support more advanced forms of messaging, including in-line image previews, rich text formatting, screenshots, and message quoting. Messages can also be deleted after being sent.

The in-meeting menus have been updated, to more closely match the menus in the out-of-meeting whiteboard experience. This includes an improved right-click menu, additional editing options for shapes, and a pinch-to-zoom ability or zoom-in/zoom-out buttons on mobile.

Changes to existing features

  • Virtual Background support for Intel Pentium Silver N6005 and AMD Ryzen3 3200G
When using Linux VDI plugins, devices with processors based on either the Intel Pentium Silver N6005 or AMD Ryzen3 3200G CPUs will have virtual background support enabled automatically.

New and enhanced features

  • Support for AWS VDI Plugin
Zoom supports Amazon's platform for connecting from their virtual desktop to a new VDI plugin that runs on the thin client.
  • Auto-update for the VDI Zoom Meeting client
The Zoom Meeting client in the virtual desktop (host application) supports the fast and slow auto-update channels. This allows users to apply existing registry key values defined for the standard client that enable options for auto-update to the VDI Zoom Meeting client. Users can also enable the option to check for updates as well as download and install the newest update.
  • Support for VDI plugin auto-update for Mac
This enhancement installs additional VDI plugin auto-update management software with the VDI plugin. This software, when enabled through a policy on the virtual desktop, will detect missing or out-of-date VDI plugins on a Mac. When a plugin needs to be installed or updated the new software will download and install a compatible version of the VDI plugin.
  • Update VDI client uninstall string to support silent uninstall
Administrators can use a script to pull the uninstall string from the registry and add /q /qn for silent uninstall.
  • Updated Zoom client icon for VDI
The icon for the VDI client has been updated with a new logo, consistent with Zoom’s new branding.
  • Dutch Language Support
Dutch language for both the VDI Zoom Meeting client and VDI plugins has been added.
  • Linux support for avatars
Users can select an avatar to represent themselves on-screen during meetings. Users can turn their avatar on or off at any time during a meeting. This also includes enhancements to audio-driven speech recognition that more closely lip syncs with the user’s voice and function whenever the user’s camera is on or off.
