Zoom Support Maintenance: 9/18/2021

Zoom Rooms Operation Time Follow

Overview

You can conserve energy by dimming the iPad Controller during non-work hours. During the configured time, the Zoom Room displays will be black. Specify a schedule for the devices in your Zoom Rooms so that they dim during times when the Zoom Room is not in use.

NoteOur recommendation is to use Dark Mode/Operation time to put TV to dark mode instead of using HDMI-CEC. For more information, please see: Zoom Rooms TV On/Off Configurations.

Setting Operating Time for the TV and iPad Controller

For a single Zoom Room

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as a Zoom Room administrator.
  2. Click Room Management > Zoom Rooms.
  3. Click the Edit button next to the Zoom Room you want to manage.
  4. Scroll to the Room Setup section of the Edit Room page and toggle the Yes/No switch for Device Operation Time to the Yes position.
  1. Enter the earliest start time and the latest end time for when the room will be in use.
  2. Select which day or days the room will be in use.
  3. Select which devices are turned off or dimmed during the hours/days that the room is not in use. You can select the TV, the iPad controller, or both.
  4. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

For multiple Zoom Rooms

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator for a Zoom Room floor, building, or other part of the hierarchy to which you have access.
  2. Click Room ManagementZoom Rooms.
  3. Click the Edit link next to the part of the hierarchy you want to change. For example, if you are the administrator for BuildingA in the example.com organization, click the Edit link next to BuildingA.
  1. On the Edit page for your location (in this example, the Edit Building page), scroll to the Device Operation Time section and and toggle the Yes/No switch to the Yes position.
  2. Enter the earliest start time and the latest end time for when any room in the location will be in use.
  3. Select which day or days any room will be in use.
  4. Select which devices are turned off or dimmed during the hours/days the rooms are not in use. You can select the TV, the iPad controller, or both.
  5. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
