Live Streaming Meetings or Webinars Using a Custom Service Follow

Overview

If configured by your account administrator, you can live stream a webinar to a custom platform. If you configure this before the webinar, you can begin streaming with one click after your webinar begins.

Prerequisites

  • Zoom Client for Windows or Mac version 4.0.x
  • Webinar streaming: Host with Pro and Webinar licenses 
  • Meeting stream: Host with Pro licenses

​​Enabling Custom Live Streaming Service (Admin)

To enable users in your account to live stream meetings or webinars to a custom platform, follow one of the following sections:

Meetings

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Account ManagementAccount Settings.
  3. Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the toggle next to Allow live streaming the meetings.
  4. Click the Custom Live Streaming Service checkbox to enable it.
  5. Update the instructions so that the webinar organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the webinar.

Webinars

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Account ManagementWebinar Settings.
  3. Next to In Webinar Settings, click Edit.
  4. Enable the ​​Custom Live Stream Service​​ option.
  5. Update the instructions so that the webinar organizer can configure the required settings when they schedule the webinar.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Setting up Custom Live Streaming (Host)

Follow the sections below to set up custom live streaming for a meeting or webinar:

Meetings

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Meetings.
  3. Click Schedule a New Meeting and the required information to schedule a meeting.
  4. Click Save to display a set of tabs with advanced options.
  5. Click the Live Streaming tab, then click the configure live stream settings link.
  6. Follow the instructions located in the green box, which were provided by your administrator. Contact your administrator if the instructions do not include sufficient information.
  7. Click Save to save your live streaming settings.
    The host will be able to live stream this webinar without needing to add these settings after the webinar begins

Webinars

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Webinars.
  3. Click Schedule a Webinar and enter the required information.
  4. Click Schedule to display a set of tabs with advanced options.
  5. Click the Live Streaming tab, then click the configure live stream settings link.
  6. Follow the instructions located in the green box, which were provided by your administrator. Contact your administrator if the instructions do not include sufficient information.
  7. Click Save to save your live streaming settings.
    The host will be able to live stream this webinar without needing to add these settings after the webinar begins.

 

​​Starting the Live Stream during the Webinar

​To live stream your webinar to a custom platform:

  1. Start the webinar as usual, by doing one of the following:
    • From your calendar - If you have added the webinar to your calendar, click the link displayed on your calendar reminder.
    • From the Zoom website - Sign into Zoom, find the webinar in the ​​My Webinars tab, and click Start.
  2. Click the ​​More ​​button in the Host Controls.
  3. Choose Live on Custom Live Stream Service​​.
    If the organizer configured this webinar for live custom streaming, a browser window opens that shows the progress as Zoom prepares the live stream of your webinar.

    If the organizer did not set up this webinar for live custom streaming, you must enter the values provided in the instructions.
