Viewing Closed Captions Follow

About

If closed captioning is in use during a meeting or webinar, you can view closed captions as a participant.

Prerequisites

  • Zoom PC or Mac version 3.5.37712.0111 or higher (enter or view caption)
  • Zoom Rooms for Mac or PC/Touch version 3.6x and higher (view caption only)
  • Zoom Rooms iPad controller version 3.6x and higher (view caption only)
  • Zoom iOS or Android version 4.0.21521.0116 or higher (view caption only)
  • A Meeting with Closed Captions available

How to View Closed Captions

  1. When closed captions are in use, you will see a notification. 
    • In a meeting, it will appear in the controls at the bottom of your screen.

    • In a webinar, this will appear in the controls at the top of your screen.

  2. After selecting Closed Caption, you will see the captioning at the bottom of your screen. Untitled_design__3_.png
  3. Optional: If you need to adjust the caption size, click on the arrow next to stop/start video and choose Video SettingsA67CC407-3AEA-4CDE-8B6E-5FC1B56F2D77.png
  4. Click on Accessibility.

  1. When closed captions are in use, you will see a notification. 
    • In a meeting, this notification will appear in your controls at the bottom of your screen.

    • As an attendee in a webinar, this notification will appear in the controls at the top of your screen.

  2. Click on the Closed Caption option to turn it on. 
  3. The closed caption will now appear at the bottom of your screen. Untitled_design.jpg
  4. Optional: If you need to adjust the size of your closed captions, you can access the settings by clicking on the arrow next to start/stop video and choosing Video Settings

  1. Login to your Zoom account in the Zoom app. 
  2. Click on the Settings icon.

  3. Select Meeting.

  5. When you are in a meeting where Closed Captions are available, they will automatically appear on your screen.

  2. Click on the Settings icon.

  5. When you are in a meeting where Closed Captions are available, they will automatically appear on your screen.
