Sending animated GIFs using GIPHY Follow

Note: To ensure strong privacy protection for the users of GIPHY on Zoom Chat, Zoom is disabling the GIPHY integration on May 21, 2020. Once additional technical measures have been deployed, we will re-enable the feature.

Overview

Find and send GIFs using GIPHY, without leaving the Zoom chat window. Search for GIFs that match a keyword and click on the one you want to share in your chat.

Note: You can't send animated GIFs using GIPHY if your admin enabled advanced chat encryption.

Sending an animated GIF using GIPHY

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client or mobile app.
  2. Select a chat thread.
  3. Click or tap the smiley face icon  at the bottom right of the chat window.
  4. Click or tap GIF.
  5. Type a word to search. Up to 8 GIFs will display.
  6. Click on the GIF to send.
    Once the GIF is sent there are several options you can use:
  • Collapse the GIF by clicking the arrow above the GIF. (Only available on the desktop client).
  • Click or tap the ellipses icon (...) then Add to Emojis (desktop) or Save as Emoji (mobile) to add it to your favorite emojis.

Accessing favorite emojis

Access your favorite emojis to easily send GIFs you previously added to your favorites.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client or mobile app.
  2. Select a chat thread.
  3. Click or tap the smiley face icon  at the bottom right of the chat window.
  4. Click or tap the heart icon.
