Using the Microsoft Teams integration
Last Updated:
Zoom's Microsoft Teams integration allows you to start an instant meeting, join a scheduled meeting, or make Zoom Phone call through Bots commands. Meetings created in Teams will appear on your Zoom account.
If you have not yet configured Microsoft Teams for Zoom, see Getting Started with Microsoft Teams.
Prerequisites
- Pro, Business, Education or API plan to use the Zoom bot in a team channel
- Any level of account to use the Zoom bot in a one-on-one channel
- Zoom email account (work email), SSO or Google login
- Team Configured with the Zoom bot
Note: Support documentation on full functionality can be found in the Zoom Marketplace.
Connect
The Connect command allows you to connect your Teams account to your Zoom account. This is not necessary if you have a paid Zoom license and your email addresses in Zoom and Microsoft Teams match. However, if you have a free account or your email addresses do not match, use the Connect command to link your accounts.
- Type @Zoom, click the Zoom bot, and type connect.
- You will receive a Sign In message. Click Sign In.
- Note: If you login with Single Sign-on, login to Zoom in a separate browser tab before clicking Sign In.
- When prompted to connect your accounts, click Confirm.
- You will receive a message in your channel that it was successful.
Type @Zoom, select the Zoom bot and type help to see all commands at any time.
- Type @Zoom, select the Zoom bot, and type start to start an instant meeting.
Note: If your Zoom account setting has Use Personal meeting ID for Instant Meetings enabled, this command will use your PMI. - Click Click Here to Join.
- Zoom will open a link in your default browser and open the Zoom application.
Start an Instant Meeting with a Specific Topic
- Type @Zoom, select the Zoom bot, and type start followed by desired topic name to start an instant meeting with a specific topic name.
- Click Click Here to Join.
- Zoom will open a link in your default browser and open the Zoom application.
- Type @Zoom, select the Zoom bot, and type join followed by the meeting ID of the meeting that you want to join.
Note: If your Zoom account setting has Use Personal meeting ID for Instant Meetings enabled, this command will use your PMI. - Click Click Here to Join.
- Zoom will open a link in your default browser and open the Zoom application.
Meeting Summary and Recording Link
When the meeting ends, the Bot will post a meeting summary and a recording link (if the meeting is recorded in cloud). However, this will not be posted if the meeting used your Personal Meeting ID. You can disable the setting to "always use PMI for Instant Meetings" on your Zoom Profile.
