Using Jira with Zoom Whiteboard

Zoom Whiteboard allows users to add work items from Jira to the whiteboard. Users can import Jira issues to assign tasks, add due dates, track progress, and sync changes made on the whiteboard to Jira.

Note: This feature is only available for accounts with a Whiteboard Plus license.

Prerequisites for using Jira with Zoom Whiteboard

  • Zoom desktop client
    • Windows: 5.10.3 or higher
    • macOS: 5.10.3 or higher
    • Linux: 5.10.3 or higher
  • Zoom mobile app
    • Android: 5.10.3 or higher
    • iOS: 5.10.3 or higher
  • A Jira admin account to install and uninstall
  • Whiteboard Plus license

How to install the Jira app from the Zoom Marketplace

If your admin has installed the Jira app, the app will automatically be installed and available to you in the client.

  1. Create or open a whiteboard.
  2. In the toolbar on the left side of the screen, click the More Tools icon .
  3. Click Card, and then click Import Jira issues.
  4. Click Zoom Marketplace.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Confirm the permissions the app requires, and then choose Allow.
    After installing the app from the Zoom Marketplace, you will be redirected to the Connect to Jira page.
  7. Configure the Application Link.
  8. Enter your company’s Jira domain, and then click Connect.
    You will be redirected to Jira to confirm the connection. Once complete, you and your users will be able to configure their own notifications/subscriptions.

How to connect your Jira account in Zoom Whiteboard

  1. Create or open a whiteboard.
  2. In the toolbar on the left side of the screen, click the More Tools icon .
  3. Click Card, and then click Import Jira issues.
  4. In the Import Jira Issues as Cards dialog box, click Log into Jira Cloud.
  5. Select a Jira site and then click Connect.
    A new tab will open.
  6. Click Connect.
  7. Click Allow to grant Jira app read and write access to your data.
  8. Click Confirm.
    A success message will appear. In your whiteboard canvas, you will see the Select Issues dialog box where you can import the Jira issues.

How to import Jira issues

  1. Create or open a whiteboard.
  2. In the toolbar on the left side of the screen, click the More Tools icon .
  3. Click Card, and then click Import Jira issues.
  4. In the Select Issues dialog box, click the check box next to the Jira issue you want to import. You can select and import multiple issues by clicking multiple check boxes.
    Jira issues will be imported to the whiteboard as Jira cards.
