Creating in-meeting whiteboard from a template

Users can create a whiteboard using available templates from the templates dashboard during a Zoom meeting. The templates dashboard allows users to preview high-level template details, explore different templates based on their category, and select a template to use for whiteboard.

Prerequisites for creating a whiteboard from templates in a Zoom meeting

  • Zoom desktop client for Windows, macOS, or Linux: 5.13.5 or higher
  • Zoom mobile app for Android or iOS: 5.13.5 or higher

How to create in-meeting whiteboard from a template

  1. Start a meeting from the Zoom desktop client or mobile app.
  2. On the in-meeting controls, click the Whiteboards button  .
    The Zoom Whiteboard dashboard will display.
  3. At the top of the dashboard, click the Templates tab.
    The templates dashboard will display.
  4. Select a category and search for a specific template you want to use.
  5. In the lower right corner of the selected template tile, click the ellipsis icon .
  6. (Optional) Click Preview to preview the template picture with sample data.
  7. Click Use Template.
  8. In the pop-up window, you will be asked to select from the following:
    • How do you want to open the board?
      • Collaborating: Users are granted edit access.
      • Presenting: Board opens in presentation mode and users are granted view access.
    • Do you want users to have access to the board after the meeting?
      • Yes: Meeting participants can access the new or edited whiteboard when the meeting ends.
      • No: Meeting participants cannot access the new or edited whiteboard when the meeting ends unless the owner grants them access outside the meeting.
  9. Click Open Board.
    The new whiteboard will open with the added template.
