Minimizing and exiting Zoom

You can keep the Zoom desktop client or mobile app running in the background as you work on other tasks, so that you can continue to receive notifications from chats or meeting invitations. You can also exit the application to apply any settings recently made by the admin.
Prerequisites for minimizing and exiting Zoom
- Zoom desktop client
- Windows: 5.2.2 (45108.0831) or higher
- macOS: 5.2.2 (45106.0831) or higher
- Linux: 5.2 (454870.0831) or higher
- Zoom mobile app
- Android: 5.2 (45104.0831) or higher
- iOS: 5.2.1 (44038.0816) or higher
- Basic, Licensed, or On-Prem user
In the top-left corner of the Zoom desktop client:
- Click the red circle to close the Zoom window; open Launchpad and click the Zoom icon to open the Zoom window.
- Click the yellow circle to minimize the Zoom window to the dock; click the Zoom icon in the dock to open the Zoom window.

Or in the task bar, right-click on the Zoom icon, then click Close.
- Tap the square icon at the bottom of your screen.
- Swipe left or right to locate Zoom.
- Swipe up or down to exit Zoom.
To exit the Zoom app on your Android device, tap the circle icon at the bottom of the screen
- If your iOS device does not have a physical home button:
- Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen while in the Zoom app.
- If your iOS device has a physical home button:
- Press the home button while in the Zoom app.
To exit the Zoom app on your iOS device:
- If your iOS device does not have a physical home button:
- While in the Zoom app, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause; this will bring up the app switcher.
- Swipe left or right to find Zoom.
- Swipe up on the Zoom card to exit.
- If your iOS device has a physical home button:
- While in the Zoom app, press the home button twice; this will bring up the app switcher.
- Swipe left or right to find Zoom.
- Swipe up on the Zoom card to exit.
