Note: As our world comes together to slow the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the Zoom Support Center has continued to operate 24x7 globally to support you. Please see the updated Support Guidelines during these unprecedented times.

Important: Starting September 27, Zoom will require that all meetings have a Passcode or a Waiting Room enabled for accounts with a single licensed user, Pro accounts with 2 or more licenses, and Business accounts with 10-100 licenses. Windows 7 Media Player Cannot Play Recording Follow

Overview

If you are trying to play a recording with a shared screen on Windows 7 Media Player and the video portion will not load, this may be due to limitations with Windows 7 Media Player and higher resolution videos.

Instructions

The maximum supported resolution for Windows Media Player 7 is 1920 × 1080 pixels due to limitations with the software and DXVA decoding. Read more information from Microsoft

The recorded Zoom video of a shared screen cannot be played with WMP on Windows 7 if the resolution of the shared screen is higher than 1920x1080.

The recording resolution is based on the largest shared screen in the meeting or webinar, so even if video and screens were shared at lower resolutions, Windows Media Player may not be able to play the recording.

Please try another media player such as VLC or Quicktime
