Meet Now vs Scheduled Meetings Follow

Overview

There are 2 types of meetings, Meet Now (Instant Meetings) and Scheduled Meetings.

Scheduled Meetings

You can schedule a future one-time meeting or a future recurring meeting. There are several ways to schedule a meeting. You can invite your participants ahead of time and include the invitation on a calendar or send it out via email. Learn how to schedule a meeting.

 Note: Scheduled meeting IDs last for 30 days from the day it is scheduled or started. Recurring meeting IDs last for 365 days from the day it is scheduled or started. 

Meet Now (Instant Meetings)

You click Start With Video or Start Without Video in the Zoom client, Meet on Chat window, or Host a Meeting on the Zoom website to start an Instant Meeting. The meeting starts instantly and you can invite others to join this meeting at any time.

Note: An instant meeting ID started from Zoom Desktop Client, Zoom Mobile app, or the Zoom website will expire as soon as the meeting has ended. Instant meeting IDs scheduled through the API will expire after 24 - 48 hours.
