"Your Attendees Are Waiting" Email Notification Follow

Overview

Zoom hosts can receive an email notifications if participants have joined the meeting before the host has. The notification email will prompt the host to join the meeting. 

Only the host of the meeting will receive this email.  This email notification is triggered if:

  • An attendee is waiting for the host to start the meeting
  • An attendee has joined the meeting before host (if join before host is enabled)

Enabling "Attendees Are Waiting" email notifications
To enable "Attendees Are Waiting" Email Notifications for all members of your organization:

  1. Sign into the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit Account settings, and click Account Settings.
  2. Navigate to the When attendees join meeting before host setting in the Meeting tab and click the Status toggle to enable it.

    If a verification dialog displays, choose Turn On to verify the change.

  3. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

To enable "Attendees Are Waiting" email notifications for a specific group:

  1. Sign into the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit User groups, and click Group Management.
  2. Navigate to the When attendees join meeting before host setting in the Meeting tab and click the Status toggle to enable it. If a verification dialog displays, choose Turn On to verify the change.

  3. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in this group, click the lock icon, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the Account level, and needs to be changed at that level.

To enable "Attendees Are Waiting" email notifications for your own use:

  1. Sign into the Zoom web portal and click My Meeting Settings (if you are an account administrator) or Meeting Settings (if you are an account member).
  2. Navigate to the When attendees join meeting before host setting in the Meeting tab and click the Status toggle to enable it. If a verification dialog displays, choose Turn On to verify the change.

    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the Group or Account level, and you will need to contact your Zoom administrator to turn off the email notifications.
