Uninstalling the Zoom application

If you want to remove Zoom from your device completely or are having issues with your current version, and want to do a fresh install, use the following directions to remove Zoom from your device. 

How to uninstall Zoom

Remove Zoom from the Control Panel

  1. In the Windows search bar, search for Control Panel.
  2. Click the Control Panel app.
  3. If Control Panel is set to Category view, click Uninstall a Program.
  4. Alternatively, if View by is set to Large or Small icons, click Programs and Features
  5. Select Zoom in the programs list, then click Uninstall.
  6. If prompted Are you sure you want to uninstall Zoom?, click Yes
  7. Once completed, you can reinstall Zoom on our download center.

Run CleanZoom to remove Zoom completely

To remove Zoom completely and clean all its excessive and unusable files, run CleanZoom on your device.

  1. Download and run CleanZoom.
    Note: Use of the clean uninstaller will completely remove the Zoom client, as well as the Zoom plugin for Outlook. The Outlook add-in, Chrome/Firefox extensions, and Google Workspace add-on are unaffected.
  2. Once completed, you can reinstall Zoom on our download center.

Uninstall Zoom on macOS on version 4.4.53932.0709 and above

  1. Open the Zoom desktop application.
  2. Select zoom.us at the top of your screen and select Uninstall Zoom.
  3. Select OK to confirm uninstalling the Zoom desktop application and all of its components.
  4. Once completed, you can reinstall Zoom on our download center.

Uninstall Zoom on macOS on version 4.4.53909.0617 and below

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Select Go at the top of your screen.
  3. Select Go to Folder...
  4. Once opened, input ~/.zoomus/
  5. Move ZoomOpener to your trash.
  6. Once completed, repeat steps 3 through 5 for the following folders and files
    1. Folder: /Applications/ Move to Trash: zoom.us.app
    2. Folder: ~/Applications/ Move to Trash: zoom.us.app
    3. Folder: /System/Library/Extensions/ Move to Trash: ZoomAudioDevice.kext
    4. Folder: ~/Library/Application\ Support/ Move to Trash: zoom.us
      Note: Zoom may not be installed in both the /Applications and ~/Applications folders.
  7. Once completed, you can reinstall Zoom on our download center.

Debian, Ubuntu, or Linux Mint

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. Enter the following command:
    sudo apt remove zoom
  3. Hit Enter on your keyboard. 
  4. Once completed, you can reinstall Zoom on our download center

openSUSE

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. Enter the following command:
    sudo zypper remove zoom
  3. Hit Enter on your keyboard. 
  4. Once completed, you can reinstall Zoom on our download center

Oracle Linux, CentOS, RedHat, or Fedora

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. Enter the following command:
    sudo yum remove zoom
  3. Hit Enter on your keyboard. 
  4. Once completed, you can reinstall Zoom on our download center

Uninstall using the Google Play Store

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. In the search bar, type Zoom Cloud Meetings.
  3. Tap Zoom Cloud Meetings.
  4. Tap Uninstall.
  5. When prompted Do you want to uninstall this app?, tap OK
  6. Once completed, you can reinstall Zoom on the Google Play Store

Uninstall from within Settings

If you are having issues uninstall using the Google PlayStore, or installed Zoom using the APK file, Zoom can also be removed from within the Android settings menu.

Note: Android Settings menus may be different from below due to the Android version or device manufacturer.

  1. Go to Settings on your Android device. 
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Scroll down, then tap, the Zoom app.
  4. Tap Uninstall.
  5. When prompted, Do you want to uninstall this app?, tap OK.
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap iPhone Storage or iPad Storage.
  4. Tap Zoom.
  5. Tap Delete App.
  6. When prompted with Deleting "Zoom" will also delete all of its documents and data. This action can't be undone, tap Delete App.
  7. Once completed, you can reinstall Zoom on the iOS App Store
