Start a Meeting from an H.323/SIP Endpoint Follow

Overview

You can start a meeting from an H.323 or SIP device as a host by using your host key or pairing from the web. You will not have the full host controls available from the Zoom desktop client or the Zoom mobile app, but you can start cloud recording and choose to mute participants upon entry.

Instructions

Include the Host Key in the Dial String

You can join a meeting as the host by including the host key in the dial string.

H.323

    Meetings without a password:

         [IP Address]##[Meeting ID]###[Host Key]
            Example: 192.168.1.25##123456789###123456

    Meetings with a password: 

      [IP Address]##[Meeting ID]#[Password]#[Layout]#[Host Key]
            Example: 192.168.1.25##123456789#12345#11#123456

SIP

 Meetings without a password:

        [Meeting ID]...[Host Key]@[IP Address]
            Example: 123456789...123456@192.168.1.25

     Meetings with a password:

        [Meeting ID].[Password]..[Host Key]@[IP Address]
            Example: 123456789.12345..123456@192.168.1.25

 

Enter the Host Key on the Splash Screen

  1. Dial the Zoom IP address included in the meeting invitation or found on your Cloud Room Connector page.

  2. Enter the Meeting ID, followed by #.
  3. Enter your Host Key, followed by #. 
  4. You will now start the meeting as the host. 

 

Join via Pairing

  1. Dial the IP address (found in the meeting invitation or on your Cloud Room Connector page) from the H.323 or SIP device to reach the splash screen.

  2. Login to My Meetings on the web.
  3. Select Join a meeting from an H.323/SIP room system.

  4. Enter the meeting ID and pairing code.

  5. Click Connect.

 

Start Cloud Recording

  1. Press 1 via DTMF tones to access the menu.
    On some devices, you will need to toggle your remote to send DTMF tones.
    • Polycom: Press # to activate the keypad for DTMF tones
    • Tandberg: Press # to activate "Touch Tones"
    • Lifesize: Press  to toggle between presets and DTMF mode
    • Sony: Press * to activate DTMF mode, Enter to exit (microphone will not be active in DTMF mode)
    • Aver: Press Far/Near button on remote control to toggle between camera presets and DTMF mode
  2. Press 5 to start the cloud recording.

  3. It will show recording in the top left corner of the screen.

Enable Mute Upon Entry

  1. Press 1 via DTMF tones to access the menu.
    On some devices, you will need to toggle your remote to send DTMF tones.
    • Polycom: Press # to activate the keypad for DTMF tones
    • Tandberg: Press # to activate "Touch Tones"
    • Lifesize: Press  to toggle between presets and DTMF mode
    • Sony: Press * to activate DTMF mode, Enter to exit (microphone will not be active in DTMF mode)
    • Aver: Press Far/Near button on remote control to toggle between camera presets and DTMF mode
  2. Press 0 to view additional options.

  3. Press 3 to mute participants upon entry.
