Using Personal Meeting ID (PMI) Follow

Overview

Your Personal Meeting Room is a virtual meeting room permanently reserved for you. You can access with your Personal Meeting ID (PMI) or personal link if applicable. You can start instant meetings with your PMI, or you can schedule a meeting that uses your PMI. 

Your Personal Meeting Room is ideal for use with people you meet with regularly. However, because it is always accessible with the same Meeting ID and personal link, it should not be used for back-to-back meetings or people you do not meet with regularly. Once a participant has the link to your PMI, they can join it at any time the meeting is in use, unless you lock the meeting or use the Waiting Room feature to admit participants individually.

Instructions

Always Use PMI for Instant Meetings

You can set your Zoom profile to always use your Personal Meeting ID for instant meetings. This will lock this setting, so whether you are starting the instant meeting on the web, with the Zoom Desktop Client, or with the Zoom mobile app, it will use your Personal Meeting ID. If you schedule a meeting, you will need to choose to use your PMI.

To Always Use your PMI for Instant Meetings:

  1. Login to the Zoom web portal and navigate to My Profile.
  2. Click Edit next to Personal Meeting ID.

  3. Check Use this ID for instant meetings
  4. Click Save Changes

To start your PMI:
  1. Click Meetings.

  2. Hover over Personal Meeting ID (PMI) and click Start

To use your PMI for all instant meetings on this computer:

  1. Click Meetings.

  3. Now when you click Start with Video or Start without Video on this computer, it will use your PMI.

To Schedule a Meeting with your PMI:
  1. Click Schedule.

  3. Click the arrow next to Advanced Options.

To start your PMI:

  1. Click Meetings.

To Schedule a Meeting with your PMI:
  1. Click Schedule.

To Start your PMI:
  1. Login and navigate to My Meetings
  2. Click Personal Meeting Room.

  4. This will open up the Zoom desktop client and start your PMI.

 

To Schedule a Meeting with your PMI:
  1. Login and navigate to My Meetings
  2. Click Schedule a New Meeting.

To Start an Instant Meeting with your PMI:
  1. Tap Start Meeting.

  3. Tap Start a Meeting.

  1. Tap Schedule.

  1. Tap Start Meeting.

  1. Click the Schedule a Meeting button.

  3. After selecting your other options, click Continue.
  4. Add the meeting invitees and Save or Send your invitation.

 

How to Schedule with PMI on the Chrome Extension
  1. Login to the Chrome Extension.

  5. After finishing the invitation, click Save.

How to Schedule with PMI with Firefox Add-on

  1. Login to the Firefox Add-on.

  2. Click Schedule Meeting.

  3. The Scheduling Options should appear. If the scheduling options don't appear automatically, click the add-on and the gear icon.

  6. After finishing the invitation, click Save.
