Managing Room Passcode for Zoom Rooms

Room Passcode for Zoom Rooms is a required 1-16 digit numeric lock code that is used to prevent users from making setting changes on the Zoom Room controller or closing the Zoom Room application on the computer.

How to edit the room passcode
To edit the Room Passcode for all Zoom Rooms in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation panel, click Room Management then Zoom Rooms.
- Click the Rooms tab.
- Click Account Settings.
- Under Basic, scroll down to Room Passcode.
- Click the pencil icon
to edit the passcode.
- Click Save.
- (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all Zoom Rooms in your account, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
To edit the Room Passcode for a specific Zoom Room on the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation panel, click Room Management then Zoom Rooms.
- Click the Rooms tab, then locate the Zoom Room with the room passcode that you want to edit.
- Click Edit.
- Click the Rooms Profile tab.
- Under Basic, scroll down to Room Passcode.
- Click the pencil icon
to edit the passcode.
- Click Save.
How to view the room passcode
To view Room Passcode:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation panel, click Room Management then Zoom Rooms.
- Click the Rooms tab, then locate the Zoom Room with the room passcode that you want to view.
- Click Edit.
- Click the Rooms Profile tab.
- Under Basic, scroll down to Room Passcode.
- Click the eye icon
to view the passcode.
How to use the room passcode
You will have to enter the room passcode on the controller when you want to change settings or sign out/exit the Zoom Rooms application on your Zoom Rooms controller or computer.
How to set the numeric keypad as the default when joining meetings
Some organizations use numeric passcodes for meetings and do not need a lettered keypad to appear by default when manually joining. Administrators can toggle the type of keypad that is shown by default, so switching is not necessary when inputting passcodes.
Note: This feature is currently supported on Android Zoom Rooms controllers running version 5.14.5 or higher.
- Log in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click on Room Management then click on Zoom Rooms.
- You can use the Zoom Rooms location hierarchy to set this as default for the account, location, or room. For this example, click Account Settings.

toggle.
