Upgrading or downgrading Zoom Rooms

Account admins or owners can remotely upgrade their Zoom Rooms software to the latest version or downgrade them to the previous Zoom Rooms version by using the Zoom web portal. Zoom Room controller software can be upgraded manually or by using Zoom device management from the web portal. The controller software cannot be downgraded.
Notes:
- Ensure that your Zoom Rooms and controllers are running versions 5.0.5 or higher. This version is required for the room to function because enhanced encryption between rooms and controllers is enabled.

- Windows: 5.0.5 or higher
- macOS: 5.0.5 or higher
- Zoom Rooms Controller
- Android: 5.0.5 or higher
- iOS: 5.0.5 or higher
- Account owner or admin privileges
How to upgrade Zoom Rooms
To upgrade Zoom Rooms for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation panel, click Room Management then Zoom Rooms.
- Click the Devices tab.
- Click Upgrade Zoom Rooms.
- Click Upgrade to confirm.
Note: Zoom Rooms will wait up to 30 minutes before proceeding with the upgrade to confirm that no meetings are in progress or about to start. If you need to upgrade faster, you can download and install the latest version of Zoom Rooms from the Download Center.
How to downgrade Zoom Rooms
Note: You can only downgrade to the previous version.
To downgrade Zoom Rooms for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation panel, click Room Management then Zoom Rooms.
- Click the Devices tab.
- Find the Zoom Room you want to downgrade, then click the ellipses
.
- Select Downgrade Zoom Rooms.
- Click Downgrade to confirm.
The app version being downgraded will be listed. Click Cancel to stop the downgrade if needed.
Note: The Zoom Room will wait 30 minutes before proceeding with the downgrade to confirm that no meetings are in progress or about to start.
How to upgrade the Zoom Room controller app
Zoom Room controller software on these devices can be updated manually from the devices themselves or by using Zoom device management from the web portal.
Embedded Android Zoom Room controllers
- Upgrading a Polycom Trio
- Upgrading a Crestron Mercury or Crestron TSS/ TSW: These devices are typically upgraded by Crestron.
- Upgrading a Yealink CP960
How to upgrade Zoom Room Appliances
Logitech Rally Bar, Logitech Rally Bar Mini, Poly X30, X50, G7500, and DTEN Zoom Room Appliances need to be upgraded individually. Updates by location and by account are not supported.
Note: Neat Bar Zoom Room appliances receive auto-updates from Neat.
To upgrade Zoom Rooms appliances for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation panel, click Room Management then Zoom Rooms.
- Click the Devices tab.
- Click Filters.
- In the last dropdown menu, select Enrolled in ZDM to find Zoom Room Appliances.
- Find the Zoom Room Appliance that you want to upgrade.
- Click the ellipses
and select from the following options:
- Upgrade OS: Upgrade the OS on the device.
- Upgrade Zoom Room: Upgrade the Zoom Rooms app for the device.
- (Optional) To upgrade all displayed devices, click the Upgrade OS or Upgrade Zoom Rooms button.
- Click Upgrade to confirm.
Once the upgrade is complete, refresh the Zoom web portal to view the latest version.
How to troubleshoot Zoom Room issues
If you run into problems during this process, consider these options.
- Reboot the Zoom Room device.
- Uninstall and reinstall the Zoom Rooms application.
