Hosting a Personal Audio Conference Meeting Follow

Overview

Your 10-digit Personal Audio Conference (PAC) meeting IDs are static and can be shared with participants at any time. Please see Getting Started with Personal Audio Conference for prerequisites, notes, and information on enabling PAC on your account.

  • Your account must have the Premium Audio Conferencing add-on purchased
  • Personal Audio Conference must be enabled in your User Profile

Instructions

Configuring your Personal Audio Conference

To view your PAC meeting IDs, the global dial-in numbers and the auto-generated invitation text, login to your Zoom account on the web and navigate to My Personal Audio Conference.

 

Editing Global Dial-in Numbers

  1. Click Edit to the right of Global Dial-In Numbers.
  2. Check any additional numbers you would like to include in the invitation. 
  3. If you would like to include a link to a full list of international numbers available for your account on the meeting invitation, check Show international numbers link on the invitation email.
  4. Click Save.

 

Adding a Participant Password and Listen-Only Password

If you would like to add a password to your Conference ID, you can add a 6-digit numerical password. You also have the option to add a Listen-only password, which will allow the participants who use this password to listen to your conference, but not speak. You need to set a participant password before you can set a listen-only password.

To add a participant password

  1. Next to Participant Password, click Add.
  2. Enter your 6-digit password.
  3. Click Save.

To add a listen only password

  1. Click Add under Listen Only Password.
  2. Enter the 6-digit numerical password you would like to set for listen-only participants.
  3. Click Save.

Copying the Invitation

You can copy the auto-generated invitation for conference participants and send it out to them via email, add it to a calendar invite, or share elsewhere. If you have set a listen-only password, you will also have the option to copy the invitation for listen-only participants.

To copy the invitation

  1. Click Copy the Invitation for [Participants or Listen-Only Attendees].
  2. Click Select All.
  3. Right-click to copy or use Ctrl-C on a PC or Linux or Cmd-C on Mac.
  4. Paste the invitation where you would like to share it. 

 

Starting the PAC as Host

The PAC meeting will not start until the host has joined and entered the Host Key.
  1. Dial into one of the Zoom Global dial-in numbers enabled for your account. 
  2. Enter the PAC meeting ID when prompted, followed by #
  3. Enter the Host Key when prompted, followed by #.

Host Controls through DTMF Tones

If you have entered the Host Key to start the meeting, you will have host controls available to you by entering DTMF tones on your dial pad. The following commands are available:

  1. DTMF Command: **
    • *4 to end the meeting
    • *5 to lock or unlock the meeting
    • *6 to mute or unmute yourself
    • *7 to start or stop the meeting recording
    • 99 to mute or unmute all participants
    • When the host presses **, only the host will hear the audio prompt. They will reach the feature menu which will give the following response
    • When the participant presses **, only the participant will hear the audio prompt. They will reach the feature menu which will give the following response
      • *6 to mute or unmute yourself
  2. DTMF Command: *7
    • When the host selects *7, the host will hear the following
      • The recording capability has not been enabled
      • The recording failed to start, please contact our support
      • The recording failed to stop, please contact our support
      • The meeting is now being recorded
      • The recording is now being stopped
    • When the host selects *7, all participants will hear the following
      • The meeting is now being recorded
      • The recording is now being stopped
  3. DTMF Command: *5
    • The meeting is now being locked
    • The meeting is now being unlocked
    • When the host selects *5, the host will hear the following
  4. DTMF Command: *#
    • When the host selects *#, they will notified there are x number of participants in the meeting
  5. DTMF Command: 99
    • When the host selects 99, they will be notified that all participants are muted/unmuted
  1. Login to your Zoom account on the web and navigate to My Personal Audio Conference.
  2. Click Start Conference.
  3. This will open the PAC controls in your browser.
  4. You will have options to dial into the meeting, or if you have Call Out enabled, there will be a Call Me option.
    Follow the instructions to join by phone:
    • Dial one of the numbers listed.
    • Enter the conference ID when prompted, followed by #
    • Enter your host key, followed by #.
  5. In your browser, you will have host controls available at the bottom of your screen.
    • Mute/Unmute: Mute or unmute your phone
    • Invite: Invite other participants to join.
    • Mute All: Mute all users dialed in
    • Record: If enabled , record the meeting to the Zoom cloud
    • Lock: Lock new participants from dialing into the meeting
