How Do I Find My Recording? Follow

Overview

You can record your Zoom meeting or webinar locally to your computer or to the Zoom cloud with a Pro license. Files stored on the cloud can be accessed on your desktop or from the web. Locally recorded meetings and webinars can only be accessed on the computer that recorded the meeting. This article covers finding and viewing local and cloud recordings from the Zoom client or the Zoom web portal.

Instructions

To find and view your recordings

Viewing your recordings on the Zoom client will show all cloud recordings done by this user and any local recordings by this user on this computer. It will not show local recordings done on a different computer, even if the same Zoom account was used. 

  1. Login to the Zoom client.
  2. Click Meetings.
  3. Click Recorded.
  4. Hover over the meeting you want to view the recording of. 
    • Local Recordings will have the following options:
      • Play: Play the video file.
      • Play Audio: Play the audio-only file.
      • Open: Open the folder where the recordings are stored.
      • Delete: Delete this meeting recording from the Zoom client. The files will still be stored on your computer. 
    • Cloud Recordings will only have the option to Open the recording. If you click Open, it will open your default web browser to the Recording files on the Zoom web portal. 

To find and/or change the default recording location for Local Recordings

You can find your default recording location for Local Recordings in your Zoom Client settings. If you delete a recorded meeting from the app, this may be where it is stored on your computer, if you have not changed the default recording location since the meeting.

  1. Login to the Zoom client.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Recording.
  4. This will open your recording settings.

    • Click Open to open the folder where your local recordings are stored.
    • Click Change to change the default recording location for your local recordings.

You can view your cloud recordings on the web from any device and you can see where local recordings were saved to if they were recorded with a supported version of Zoom. Zoom only displays the location of local recordings if they were recorded using the Zoom client for Windows version 4.0.25513.0228 or later or Zoom client for Mac version 4.0.25513.0228 or later.

Accessing Recordings on the Web

To access your cloud recordings or view where your local recordings are saved, login to My Recordings in the Zoom web portal.

Cloud Recordings

  1. After logging in to My Recordings, click the topic of the meeting that you want to view the recording from.
  2. This will display the individual recording files. For each file, you will have the following options:

    • Download: Download this recording to your computer.
    • Share: This will open a popup with the recording's URL and the share settings. You can copy this URL to share the recording.
    • Delete: Click Delete to move this recording to the Trash.
  3. If you delete a recording, you can click Trash from the My Recordings page to recover or permanently delete the file. Read more.

Local Recordings

You can view the location of Local Recordings on the web if the meeting was recorded with Zoom client for Windows version 4.0.25513.0228 or later or Zoom client for Mac version 4.0.25513.0228 or later. This will only display the recording file path. You will need to open the file on the computer where the meeting was recorded to view the recording.

  1. After logging in to My Recordings, click Local Recordings.
  2. This will display the meeting topic, meeting ID, date and time, computer name, and file path for the recording.
  3. If you click Delete to remove a recording from the list, it will no longer appear in your web portal, but it will still be stored on the computer where it was recorded.
