Note: After May 30, 2020, the VDI client and plugin versions must match exactly if you intend to use client version 2.1.5. Before that date arrives, you can configure the MinPluginVersion registry setting to use older versions of the plugin with client version 2.1.5.

    OpenSSL has been upgraded to the latest version.

  • AES 256-bit GCM encryption
    Zoom is upgrading to the AES 256-bit GCM encryption standard, which offers increased protection of your meeting data in transit and resistance against tampering. This provides confidentiality and integrity assurances on your Zoom Meeting, Zoom Video Webinar, and Zoom Phone data. This version of Zoom for Virtual Desktop will support GCM encryption when it is automatically enabled for all accounts on May 30.

  • Optimized Server Selection
    The thin client will select the Zoom data center closest to the thin client instead of the one closest to the virtual machine. This ability can be toggled on or off in the thin client registry.

    Shared content will be rendered from the VDI plugin instead of the VDI client. This will improve user performance and lower CPU usage on the VDI infrastructure.
