Joining a Zoom Room Meeting Using the Desktop Client Follow


You can use the Zoom Desktop Client to join a scheduled meeting that has already been started in a Zoom Room, with audio and video automatically disabled. This still allows screen sharing, chatting, and managing of participants from the desktop client, while using the Zoom Room for video and audio communication. 


  • Windows or Mac Desktop Client, Version 4.5.3372.0908


  1. Sign in to Zoom client on desktop or mobile and schedule a meeting
  2. Click “...“ then click Join from a room.
  3. The Meeting will Launch with the Title of the Meeting, centered in the window.

Note: If you start your video from the desktop client, companion mode will end.
