Direct Call to a Room System Follow

Overview

While H.323 and SIP-based room systems can be invited to a meeting once it has been started, room systems can also be called directly from the desktop and mobile client, without starting a meeting first.

Prerequisites

  • The caller must be a Licensed user
  • Room Connector Add-on
  • Zoom Desktop Client
    • Windows: version 4.4.52578.0415 or higher
    • macOS: version 4.4.52551.0414 or higher
  • Zoom Mobile App
    • Android: version 4.4.52504.0411 or higher
    • iOS: version 4.4.52578.0415 or higher

Enabling in the Web Portal

Enable in Personal Settings

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation panel, click Settings.
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under Other, verify that Call a Room is enabled.
  5. If the setting is disabled, click the toggle to enable it. If a verification dialog displays, click Turn On to verify the change.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin.

Enable for the Account

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation panel, click Account Management then Account Settings.
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under More Settings, verify that Call a Room is enabled.
  5. If the setting is disabled, click the toggle to enable it. If a verification dialog displays, click Turn On to verify the change.
  6. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

Enable for a Group

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation panel, click User Management then Group Management.
  3. Click the applicable group name from the list, then click the Settings tab.
  4. Click the Meeting tab.
  5. Under More Settings, verify that Call a Room is enabled.
  6. If the setting is disabled, click the toggle to enable it. If a verification dialog displays, click Turn On to verify the change.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.
  7. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in the group, click the lock icon, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

Calling a Room System

Desktop Client

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Desktop Client.
  2. Click Call a Room.
  3. Click H.323/SIP, then enter the address of the room system.
  4. Click Call.

Mobile Client

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Desktop Client.
  2. Tap Call a Room.
  3. Tap H.323/SIP, then enter the address of the room system.
  4. Tap Call.

iPadOS Client

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Desktop Client.
  2. Tap Call a Room.
  3. Tap H.323/SIP, then enter the address of the room system.
  4. Tap Call.
