Webinar Session Branding
Hosts can customize the appearance of the in-webinar experience by adding a wallpaper behind the video tiles, setting a common virtual background for all panelists, and providing name tags for each panelist. This requires version 5.14.0 or higher to use and/or view, but does not require this version to join the webinar. -
Enhancement to local content sharing
If local HDMI content sharing is enabled, users that connect an HDMI cable to the Zoom Room during a meeting will be prompted to choose their content sharing preference: View Locally or Share to Meeting. -
Improvement to pairing process
Desktop or mobile users will not be prompted for a passcode when pairing to a shared Zoom Room that has started a meeting. -
Display Chromium version in Settings
The Chromium browser version is displayed in the settings menu on Zoom Rooms controllers and Zoom Rooms for Touch. -

If a user selects a Bluetooth device’s microphone as the audio input, the device’s speaker will be automatically selected as the audio output, and vice versa. -

Directional audio
Zoom Rooms with stereo loudspeakers can emit participant voices based on their placement in the meeting window. For example, when a participant that is displayed on the left side of a gallery view speaks, that participant’s voice is emitted from the left room speaker. This is currently supported on single display Zoom Rooms when using Gallery or Immersive view. Supported appliance devices are Poly X50, Poly X70, DTEN Me, DTEN On, and DTEN D7x. -
In-meeting chat enhancements
Meeting participants can view emoji reactions and reply in threads to in-meeting chat messages. -
Toggle full room view
Users can toggle the full room video feed that appears next to Smart gallery video feeds. -
Hybrid meeting information
Participants can click the security shield icon to see the following text in a regular hybrid meeting: “You are connected to the Zoom Global Network via a data center controlled by your Zoom account owner”. Participants who click the shield icon in an internal hybrid meeting will see this text instead: “You are connected to a data center controlled by the host's account owner”. In either scenario, participants can click Learn More to learn about hybrid meetings. -
Recording disclaimer update
Zoom Rooms participants will receive a recording disclaimer if a Zoom Phone audio only participant starts recording. -
Update to Show/Hide Non-Video Participants
The Show/Hide Non-Video Participants option can be toggled from the View menu on the touch screen display or room controller. -
Update Scale to Fit behavior
On android devices with a touchscreen, "Scale to Fit" will now default to on for Portrait mode devices in Active Speaker view. The Scale to Fit setting can also be toggled in-meeting and the default behavior can be configured out-of-meeting. -
Smart Gallery enhancement for Neat devices
Neat bar Pro and Neat Frame devices can have up to three video streams at 720p when using Multi-stream mode.

Recurring meeting display time
Recurring meetings will now show start/end times on the Zoom Rooms display and controller. The meeting list can also be sorted by start time, and any recurring meetings without a set start time will be listed last. -
Room capacity
Administrators can set a room capacity number that will be shown on the Zoom Rooms display and/or scheduling display. This will assist users who want to reserve a room for a specific number of people.

Deleting reservations requires authentication
When a user wants to cancel a reservation on a scheduling display, the user must be authenticated. A QR code will appear for authenticating the user. Only the user who made the reservation, or an assigned delegate of that user, can delete the reservation from the scheduling display. Previously, any user could delete reservations for a Zoom Room or reservation-only rooms on a scheduling display.

Companion whiteboard users will see a message displayed at the top of the whiteboard screen indicating whether or not the whiteboard content is being shared in a meeting. If the whiteboard content is not being shared, there will be an option to start content sharing. -
End meeting save whiteboard prompt
If a whiteboard has been created in a Zoom Room hosting a meeting, the meeting host will be prompted to save the whiteboard before ending the meeting if the whiteboard has not been previously saved.

Flexible active speaker view
When this view is enabled, active speaker view will be displayed when a remote participant speaks. Once the participant stops speaking for 15 seconds, the meeting will revert to gallery view or the background screen until another participant starts talking.

Use Display Name for Zoom Room in-meeting
Administrators can set the display name for a shared Zoom Room to be used when the room joins meetings, causing the Display Name to be shown to other meeting participants when the Zoom Room is in a waiting room, in the meeting participant list, and as the label on its video. -
Enhanced Zoom Room lockout notification and manual unlock ability
Administrators can enable a “room locked” alert email after five incorrect meeting password attempts. Once the room is locked, users will see a message telling them how long they have to wait until the room is unlocked and an email alert will be sent to the designated recipients. The recipients can manually override a locked room if the meeting is hosted by the same organization that the room belongs to. To override, the recipients click “unlock room” in the email alert they receive.

Camera behavior enhancements for Interop meetings
The default camera control mode configured in the Zoom web portal will be used after joining a Microsoft Teams meeting. In addition, users will also be able to select camera control modes (manual, auto-framing, speaker focus) and accompanying camera control functions (pan-tilt-zoom, preset controls mode) depending on their devices. Windows and Mac devices can use manual mode and preset camera controls. Appliances can use all the functions listed above that are supported by the device. These options are only available when one camera is connected. -
Added More menu to the Whiteboard on Zoom Rooms for Touch user interface
The Whiteboard More menu can be used to toggle Collaboration Cursors on or off. -
Additional option for toggling show/hide self view
Users can toggle this view, which adds or removes their video feed from their personal meeting window, from the Change Views section of the user interface. -
Organize gallery view
Users can sort the way attendees are displayed in gallery and thumbnail view. The options are sorted by name in alphabetical order, or reverse alphabetical order. Hosts and co-hosts can also load a saved gallery view configuration tied to the meeting ID. -

Updates echo cancellation, and advanced noise suppression, which can be set to auto or manual. -
Chat panel enhancement
The chat panel will not be partially blocked by active speaker notifications. -

Administrators can enable join buttons for third party meeting providers (Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex) that will be displayed on the Zoom Rooms home screen. -
Upgrade Zoom Room from device
Administrators can upgrade a Zoom Room from the device itself (Zoom Rooms for Touch) or Zoom Room Controller rather than using the web portal. This function can be toggled from the web portal. -
Kiosk controls
Supported devices will now display the following icons in kiosk mode: Mute/Unmute, Video on/Off, View Participants. Administrators can toggle these icons on the Zoom web portal. -
Passcode protection for camera controls
Administrators can enable or disable a passcode requirement for users that want to control a room's camera in-meeting. -

Administrators can set the maximum number of source media ports available. A minimum of fifty is required. -

Closed captioning notification
If saving transcripts is disabled, participants will not receive the following notification in a meeting: “A participant has enabled Closed Captioning [Who can see this transcript]?” -
High Fidelity Audio mode
Zoom Rooms has added a High Fidelity Audio option in the client to allow for professional audio transmission in music education and performance applications. Professional audio interface, microphone, and headphones are recommended. -

Microsoft Teams Meetings join preference
When administrators enable Support 3rd party conferencing dial-in for Zoom Rooms and the Support Microsoft Teams web client meeting on Zoom Rooms option on the web portal, they can optionally elect to use Microsoft Teams Cloud Video Interop (CVI) information, if present, to join the meeting via SIP. If no Microsoft Teams Cloud Video Interop (CVI) information is present, Direct Guest Join will be used to join the meeting. -
List Reservation Only Rooms on the Zoom Rooms page
Reservation Only Rooms will show up in both Workspace and Zoom Rooms hierarchy. Reservation Only Rooms can easily be toggled to Scheduling Display Only Rooms. -
Idle Time-out power saving mode
Administrators can use Idle Time-out mode to automatically turn off Zoom Room displays and dim controllers after a period of inactivity. This setting is mutually exclusive with scheduling periods for devices to enter power saving mode. -
Passcode failure alerts
Zoom administrators are notified via webhook, Dashboard, and email when someone in a Zoom Room has failed to enter the correct passcode three times within a 24 hour period. Alerts are automatically cleared at the beginning of the next day. -
Cloud recording limit
If a participant tries to record a meeting after the cloud recording storage limit is reached, the Zoom Room will display a message explaining why the meeting can't be recorded. -

Administrators can allow Zoom Room users to report an issue to their IT department.

User presence status options
Personal Zoom Room users can set their status to “busy”, in addition to “available”, “away”, and “do not disturb”. If contacts set their status to “busy” that status will be displayed when viewing the contact list. -

Call history saves a record of received, outgoing, and missed calls. Users can view the caller name, number, and call duration with timestamps. -

The virtual whiteboarding experience has been redesigned to bring you the all-new Zoom Whiteboard, a cross-platform visual collaboration solution. With Zoom Whiteboard, you can brainstorm and collaborate on a persistent, expandable, digital canvas. All Zoom Rooms can open, view and save whiteboards from a desktop client paired to the Zoom Room. Zoom Rooms for Touch can also create and save whiteboards. This feature is separate from the “classic” whiteboard feature, which will continue to be available. Removal of Calendar Integration error message
Previously, when a Zoom Room was not linked to a calendar, a prominent error on the Zoom Rooms Controller home page appeared: "This room needs to be connected to a calendar. Contact your Zoom Rooms admin". This error message has been updated to suggest that connection to a calendar is not mandatory. Organizations that do not wish to connect their Zoom Rooms to a calendar can have their admins hide the upcoming meetings list on Zoom Rooms Controllers, which removes the message completely.

End-to-end (E2E) encryption for meetings
End-to-end (E2E) encryption for meetings is now available in technical preview. Account owners and admins can enable end-to-end (E2E) encryption for meetings, providing additional protection when needed. Enabling end-to-end (E2E) encryption for meetings requires all meeting participants to join from the Zoom desktop client, mobile app, or Zoom Rooms. Users will not be able to join by telephone, SIP/H.323 devices, on-premise configurations, or Lync/Skype clients, as these endpoints cannot be encrypted end to end. Zoom web client and third-party clients leveraging the Zoom SDK are also not supported at launch. Enabling this setting also disables the following features: join before host, cloud recording, streaming, live transcription, Breakout Rooms, polling, and meeting reactions. This setting is enabled in the Zoom web portal at the account, group, and user level and can be locked at the account or group level.
