  • In-meeting features
    • Smart Gallery (Public Beta)
Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery displays multiple video feeds from a single conference room. This allows the Zoom Room cameras to focus more closely on groups of participants and display these people more clearly to remote attendees. Smart Gallery will be supported on Poly and Neat Appliances in July. Logitech Appliances will be supported later this year.
    • Panelist and host controls in a webinar
Zoom Rooms that join a webinar as a panelist or a host will be able to view and/or manage attendees.

April 26, 2020 version 5.0.0 (13930.0426)

New and enhanced features

  • Recording permissions
Admin users can restrict recording permissions from the web so that meeting hosts cannot allow attendees to record.
  • AES 256-bit GCM encryption
Zoom is upgrading to the AES 256-bit GCM encryption standard, which offers increased protection of your meeting data in transit and resistance against tampering. This provides confidentiality and integrity assurances on your Zoom Meeting, Zoom Video Webinar, and Zoom Phone data. This version of Virtual Room Connector will support GCM encryption when it is automatically enabled for all accounts on May 30. For H.323/SIP devices, GCM encryption will be used between the Cloud Room Connector and the Meeting connector, to ensure codec compatibility.

Changes to existing features

  • Problem reports
In addition to basic logs, users can send audio, content sharing, and crash dump logs with a problem report using the Zoom Rooms Controller.
  • Signing in to Zoom Rooms
To pair Zoom Rooms and controller using the pairing code, the Zoom Rooms Controller must be upgraded to versions 5.0 or above. Alternatively, you can sign in or enter activation code on the Zoom Rooms and Zoom Rooms Controller individually.
