New updates for Web

New and enhanced features

  • Administrator features
    • Setting to disable PMI
      Account owners and admins can now disable the use of Personal Meeting ID (PMI), forcing users to choose the option to generate a meeting ID automatically when scheduling a meeting. If this setting is disabled, it will disable the use of PMI completely, including for previously scheduled meetings. Users will need to edit previously scheduled meetings to use an automatically generated meeting ID and resend the meeting invitation. This setting is available at the account, group, and user level and can be locked at the account and group level. PMI can also be disabled for Zoom Rooms.
  • Web client features
    • AES 256-bit GCM encryption
      Zoom is upgrading to the AES 256-bit GCM encryption standard, which offers increased protection of your meeting data in transit and resistance against tampering. This provides confidentiality and integrity assurances on your Zoom Meeting, Zoom Video Webinar, and Zoom Phone data. The web client will support GCM encryption when it is automatically enabled for all accounts on May 30. When GCM encryption is enabled, the web client will indicate this with an icon.
    • Show the connected data center
      Users can see which data center they are connected to by clicking on the info icon at the top left of the window.
    • Promote and demote webinar attendees
      The web client will now support promoting and demoting attendees during a webinar.
  • Developer features
    • Enhanced User and Meeting APIs to follow “Disable PMI” setting applied on Account, Group and User settings.

      • GET /meetings/{meetingId}/invitation
      • GET /users
      • GET /users/{userId}
      • PATCH /users/{userId}
    • Added a new field(“personal_meeting”) in Account, Group, User Settings, and Lock Settings APIs.
      • GET /accounts/{accountId}/settings
      • PATCH /accounts/{accountId}/settings
      • GET /accounts/{accountId}/lock_settings
