New updates for the Zoom client

Changes to existing features

  • Re-enable virtual camera support - macOS
    Support for virtual cameras will be re-enabled for users on client version 5.0.4. 
  • Remove USB camera support - Android
    USB camera support will be temporarily removed for Android devices. 

New and enhanced features

  • Mirror video - iOS, Android
    Users can now enable a setting to mirror their video. 

Resolved issues

  • Minor bug fixes - macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android

Changes to existing features

  • Unmuting participants - Windows, macOS
    If a host mutes a participant then unmutes the person later, a consent message will be displayed to the participant allowing them to unmute or stay muted.

New and enhanced features

  • In-meeting features
    • Security features - Windows, macOS, Appliances, iOS, Android
      Meeting hosts can tap the security option while in a meeting to easily access the following features: lock meeting, enable waiting room, disable chat, disable participant renaming, disable screen sharing for others, remove participant, report a participant.
    • Report a participant - Windows, macOS, Appliances, iOS, Android
      Meeting hosts can tap the security option while in a meeting to report a participant to Zoom trust and safety for inappropriate behavior.
    • Host selection when leaving a meeting - Windows, macOS, Appliances, iOS, Android
      The host will be prompted to assign a new host before leaving the meeting 
    • Waiting room - Windows, macOS, Appliances, iOS, Android
      Hosts in direct share meetings or phone calls will be able to allow or prevent participants from joining their meetings when waiting room is enabled. 
    • Meeting information - Windows, macOS, Appliances, iOS, Android
      Users can view the numeric password which is used for phone and H323/SIP call-in participants. The numeric password is displayed with the phone dial in number on the meeting information screen.
    • Starting a test meeting while not signed in - Windows, macOS, Appliances, iOS, Android
      Users must accept Zoom’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy via pop-up message before starting a test meeting in a Zoom Room that is not signed in. 
  • Management features
    • Recording consent customization - Windows, macOS, Appliances, iOS, Android
      Admins can customize the message that appears asking participants for their consent to be recorded. 
    • Logs - Windows, macOS, Appliances, iOS
      Admin users can enable a web setting that allows Zoom support to submit logs to Zoom on behalf of the admin, or have the logs automatically uploaded in the event of a crash.
    • Audio Logs - Windows, Appliances, iOS
      Audio Logs can now be enabled/disabled on the controller under the about page in settings.
    • Room meeting ID - Windows, Appliances, iOS
      Web admins can disable the Room Meeting ID. The Room Meeting ID will not be displayed on Zoom Rooms Controller when disabled.
  • Scheduling display features
    • Scheduling a password protected meeting - Windows, macOS, Appliances, iOS, Android
      Users can choose to schedule a password protected meeting and customize the meeting password from a scheduling display. If passwords are required for scheduled meetings, a password will be generated automatically and cannot be disabled from the scheduling display.
