Getting started as an OnZoom attendee

Note: OnZoom is only available to the US market as of launch. OnZoom will be available globally at a later date.

OnZoom is an immersive platform where consumers can search for—and enjoy—new interactive and engaging virtual experiences from creators of all sizes: from large-media organizations to creative individual Hosts.

Prerequisites for getting started as an OnZoom Attendee

  • Zoom desktop client
    • Windows: 5.3.0 (52651.0920) or higher
    • macOS: 5.3.0 (52651.0920) or higher
  • Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education account
  • Basic user

How to register for OnZoom events

Note: To join an event, users must log in to the Zoom desktop client using the same email account used at their OnZoom registration/ticket purchase.

Register for a free OnZoom event

To register for a free event:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
    All the events that you can register for will be displayed.
  2. Click the free event you want to register for.
  3. Click Register.
  4. In the Choose Ticket window, choose the ticket you want and click Continue.
    If applicable, use the plus + or minus - button to select how many tickets you want.
  5. On the Review Order page:
    • Under Email Address, enter your email address.
      If you have multiple tickets, enter the email address(es) of the ticket recipient(s).
    • (Optional) Click Edit Ticket to edit your ticket information or Delete to remove a ticket.
    • Select the following check boxes:
      • I have read and agree to the Event Participant Terms of Use and acknowledge that my contact and other information provided as part of this registration process is provided to the Host. This Host has not provided a privacy notice. Please reach out to the Host for further information.
      • (Optional) I agree to receive marketing communications from the Event Host.
      • I agree I may be recorded or live-streamed at this event and the event host may use my image, voice, and name for commercial purposes (including for public viewing of the recording or livestream) on the OnZoom platform.
  6. Click Confirm Registration.
    Once the order confirmation page appears, you can sync the event to your calendar.

Note: Your avatar during a free event will be the initials of your OnZoom account name. Avatars for free events cannot be changed.

Register for a paid OnZoom event

Note: Multiple tickets cannot be sent to the same email address.

Before you can register for a paid event, you must enter your payment method to complete the registration process and sold-to address.

Receive an email reminder for paid event availability

For events that are scheduled at a later date, availability for paid ticket registration will follow the event OnZoom host account's payment provider requirements. You can view a paid event's registration open date and choose to receive an email reminder to return to the paid event details page to complete registration once it’s available.

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
    All the events that you can register for will be displayed.
  2. Click the paid event you want to register for.
  3. On the paid event details page, view the message: Registration opens on ________ to see when you can register for the event.
    Note: You can only register for this event, starting on the opening date.
  4. Click Set a Reminder
    An email will be sent to you once registration is open.
  5. (Optional) Click Turn off reminder
    You will not receive an email reminder about when registration will be open.

Complete paid event registration

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
    All the events that you can register for will be displayed.
  2. Click the paid event you want to register for.
  3. Click Register.
  4. In the Choose Ticket window, choose the ticket you want and click Continue.
    If applicable, use the plus + or minus - button to select how many tickets you want.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. On the Review Order page:
    • Under Email Address, enter your email address.
      If you have multiple tickets, enter the email address(es) of the ticket recipient(s).
    • (Optional) Click Edit Ticket to edit your ticket information or Delete to remove a ticket.
    • Select the following check boxes:
      • I have read and agree to the Event Participant Terms of Use and acknowledge that my contact and other information provided as part of this registration process is provided to the Host. This Host has not provided a privacy notice. Please reach out to the Host for further information.
      • (Optional) I agree to receive marketing communications from the Event Host.
      • I agree I may be recorded or live-streamed at this event and the event host may use my image, voice, and name for commercial purposes (including for public viewing of the recording or livestream) on the OnZoom platform.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. In the Confirm and Pay page, select if you will pay with a debit or credit card or PayPal, then enter the required information to complete your ticket purchase.
    Notes:
    • If you have saved your address to your profile already, your address will be displayed.
      Additionally, you can also edit the saved billing address during this paid registration flow. After you save the updated address during the journey, the address will also be updated under Attendee Payment & Billing.
    • The available payment methods will depend on what forms of payment the Host accepts.
  9. Select the I have read and agree to the Event Participant Terms of Use and acknowledge the OnZoom Privacy Statement check box at the bottom of the page.
  10. Click Confirm and Pay.
    Once the order confirmation page appears, you can sync the event to your calendar.

How to share contact information with the event organizer

You may be asked to share your contact information with the host when you register for certain OnZoom events. OnZoom hosts will receive your contact information from OnZoom as soon as you agree to share your information with them. It’s important to know that once the host receives your information, such information may be used in accordance with the host’s own separate privacy policy. For example, the host may directly send your information about the event, future events, and other marketing communications, or share your information with other parties. Ensure that you carefully review the applicable policies of the host. Host policies may be available on the host’s event listing or profile page or may be requested by contacting the host.

If you do not wish to share your contact information with the host, clear or do not select the I agree that OnZoom may share my contact information with the event organizer check box. If you have questions about how your information will be used, contact the host through our contact host services to obtain and review their privacy policy.

How to join an event

After you have completed registration for a free or paid event, you will receive an email to confirm your registration.

Notes:

  • To join an event, users must log in to the Zoom desktop client using the same email account used at their OnZoom registration/ticket purchase.
  • Every ticket creates a unique URL that is linked to your account. Other users will not be able to join the event using your link.
  • Joining audio by Zoom Phone or dial-in is not supported.

Join an event from an email

To join an event from email:

  1. Open the OnZoom event confirmation email.
  2. Click View Ticket.
    This will redirect you to the event's details page.
  3. Click Join.

Join an event from your OnZoom account

To join an event from your OnZoom account:

  1. Sign in to your OnZoom account.
    Note: You must sign in using the same email address that your ticket is registered to.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Tickets.
  3. Click the event you want to join.
  4. Click Join Lobby.

Join an event from a calendar entry

To join an event from a calendar entry:

  1. Open your calendar.
  2. Find the OnZoom event entry you want to join.
  3. Open the scheduled entry.
  4. Click the Join OnZoom Event link.
    Note: The URL in the calendar entry is unique to your OnZoom account. The link will not work for other users.

Join an event from a Zoom Rooms system

You will need a Zoom Rooms setup, and you will need to sign in to your room system to attend OnZoom events using Zoom Rooms.

Join an event from a Zoom for Home device

You will need a Zoom for Home-compatible device to attend OnZoom events using Zoom for Home.

How to favorite an event

To save an event to your Favorites list:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. Find the event you want to favorite, then click the Favorite button heart-button.png on the event card.
    You can also click the Favorite button heart-button.png in the event's details page.

To see the list of events you have favorited, click Favorites in the top-right corner.

How to share an event

To share an OnZoom event:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. Find the event you want to share, then click the Share button share-button.png on the event card.
    You can also click the Share button share-button.png in the event's details page.
  3. Choose to share your event through the following options:
    • Email: Click the email icon ✉︎.
      Compose your email, then send to share.
    • Social media: Select which social media icon you want to share the event on: Facebook, Messenger, Twitter, or LinkedIn.
    • Share Event Link: Copy and paste the event link to share.

How to rate an event

Note: You can only rate events you have attended.

To rate an event:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Tickets.
  3. Click the Past tab.
  4. Click Rate Event next to the past event you want to rate.
  5. Select the number of stars to reflect your experience of the event.
    Note: If you give a 5-star rating, a bonus star will appear that you can give as a 6th star if the Host did an exceptional job.
  6. (Optional) In the feedback box, enter comments or a review of the event to provide more details.
  7. Click Save.

Edit an event's rating

To edit a previous rating:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Tickets.
  3. Click the Past tab.
  4. To the right of an event that you already rated, click Review Rating.
  5. Click Edit pencil-button.png.
  6. (Optional) Click the number of stars that you want to change your rating of the event to.
  7. (Optional) In the feedback box, edit your comments or review.
  8. Click Save.

Delete an event's rating

To delete a previous rating:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Tickets.
  3. Click the Past tab.
  4. To the right of an event that you already rated, click Review Rating.
  5. Click Delete trash-button.png.

How to search for events

You can find events that you are interested in more easily by using OnZoom's search box or clicking the OnZoom for You category on the home page.

Search for events by keywords

To search events using a keyword:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. In the What do you want to attend? search box, enter the keywords that your event should include.

Filter event searches

To filter events by a category:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. Click the category you want to limit your event search to:
    • OnZoom for You
    • Education & Family
    • Business & Networking
    • Entertainment & Visual Arts
    • Food & Drink
    • Fitness & Health
    • Home & Lifestyle
    • Community & Spirituality
    • Other
  3. (Optional) Use the search filter to further narrow the search results:
    • Date
    • Categories
    • Price
    • Type
  4. Search for your event with the selected filters applied.

How to gift an event ticket

You can purchase a ticket to an event and gift the ticket—or transfer the ticket—to someone else.

To gift a paid event:

  1. Click View Tickets on the order confirmation page.
    You can also click Tickets in the top-right corner.
  2. Find the event that you want to gift, then click the Gift button.
  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to gift the ticket ownership to.
  4. (Optional) Enter a message about why you're gifting them this ticket.
  5. Click the Gift to Friend button.

Reassign ownership of an event ticket

Note: Only the person who originally registered for the event can reassign a gifted ticket.

If you gifted a ticket and now want to reassign the ownership of a previously gifted ticket to someone else:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Tickets.
  3. Click the Orders tab.
  4. Click the ellipses more-button__1_.png next to the event you previously gifted, then click View Details.
  5. Click Reassign.
  6. Enter the email address of the person you want to transfer ownership of the ticket to.
  7. (Optional) Enter a message about why you're gifting them this ticket.
  8. Click Gift to Friend.

Opt in to share contact information

When a ticket is gifted, the gift recipient will have an option to opt-in their contact info.

Opt in through Tickets tab

To opt in through the Tickets tab:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Tickets.
  3. Find the gifted ticket that you received.
  4. (Optional) Select the following check box: I agree that Zoom may share my contact information with the Host to contact me for news, events and for other marketing purposes.
    You can also click View Order then select this check box in the ticket details.

Opt in through ticket details

To opt in through ticket details:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Tickets.
  3. Find the gifted ticket that you received, then click View Order.
  4. (Optional) Select the following check box: I agree that Zoom may share my contact information with the Host to contact me for news, events and for other marketing purposes.

How to cancel your registration

You can cancel your registration at any time within the Host's cancellation policy.

How to contact the Host

To contact the Host through email:

  1. Sign in to OnZoom.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Tickets.
  3. In the list of your registered events, click View Order.
  4. On the left-hand side, click Contact Host.
  5. Compose your email, then send it to the Host.
