OnZoom event roles and permissions Follow

Overview

There are multiple roles available for OnZoom event types: Host, Alternative Host, Panelist, and Attendee. Alternative Hosts and Panelists are invited to the event by the Host, while Attendees must have a ticket to join an event. Each role has a set of tools they can use during the event to enable participation.

Spectator-event roles include:

  • Host
  • Alternative Host
  • Panelist
  • Attendee

Interactive-event roles include:

  • Host
  • Alternative Host
  • Attendee

Note: You will select whether you want to host a spectator event or an interactive event when you are creating an event

    • macOS: 5.3.0 (52651.0920) or higher

Roles

Host

The Host is the user that scheduled the event. The Host has the full-range of available permissions, such as managing the webinar, Alternative Hosts, and Panelists. There can only be one Host for an event.

Hosts have permission to:

  • Start and stop a collaborative event
  • Use the tools in the security shield (located in the meeting controls)
  • Mute and unmute Panelists' audio
  • Stop Panelists' video
  • Moderate Attendees in the event
  • Enable Attendees' audio and video privileges upon entry
  • Mute and unmute Attendees' audio
  • Respond to chats

Alternative Host

Alternative Hosts share many of the controls the Host has, allowing the Alternative Host to manage the administrative side of an event.

Alternative Hosts have permission to:

  • Start events if the Host isn't able to join the event on time.
  • Use the tools in the security shield (located in the meeting controls)
  • Moderate Attendees in the event
  • Enable Attendees' audio and video privileges upon entry
  • Mute and unmute Attendees' audio
  • Respond to chats

Panelist

Panelists have access to tools that allow them to enhance their participation during a spectator event.

Panelists have permission to:

  • Answer questions in the Q&A window
  • Annotate on shared screens
  • Share their screen

Attendee

During a spectator event, Attendees are view-only participants and their view during a spectator event is controlled by the Host. Attendees can interact with the Host and Panelists from the Q&A and chat.

During an interactive event, Attendees can share their own audio and video (if enabled by the Host).
