Free meetings for the holiday celebrations Follow


We were proud to be here for you during 2020 and bring you into a brighter 2021. We will be lifting the 40-minute limit for holiday celebrations.

Here are the dates and times for unlimited meetings:

  • 10 a.m. ET Thursday, Dec. 17, to 6 a.m. ET Saturday, Dec. 19
  • 10 a.m. ET Wednesday, Dec. 23, to 6 a.m. ET Saturday, Dec. 26
  • 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Dec. 30, to 6 a.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 2

Q: Who can use this? Is it just for US users?
A: Users from all over the world can access these free days of Zoom.

Q: What is happening with this event?
A: Zoom is removing the meeting time limit restriction so users will be able to meet with their families virtually for holidays to stay safe during the global pandemic.

Q: Is Zoom still limiting the meeting capacity to 100 participants?
A: Yes, the maximum number of participants is 100 participants per meeting.

Q: Why is Zoom doing this?
A: To allow for all users to safely connect with family and friends during the holidays.

Q: Will free accounts have access to other features such as polling, co-hosts, etc?
A: No, Zoom is only removing the 40-minute time limit per meeting.

Q: Will I need to create a Zoom account in-order to schedule a meeting and access this time-limit uplift?
A: Yes, you can go to, to sign up!

Q: How do I schedule a Zoom meeting and join a Zoom meeting?
A: You can join or create a Zoom meeting from your Zoom desktop client, Zoom app, or the Zoom Web Client! Learn how to join or schedule a Zoom meeting. 

Q: I’m a free user. On New Year's, my Zoom client scheduling interface still says that I have a 40 minute limit. Or, after New Year's, my Zoom client scheduling interface still says that I have unlimited minutes. What’s going on?
A: The client does not automatically refresh. As such, it may say that you have the cap even when it is removed on New Year's, and may say that you have unlimited minutes, even when we have reinstated the cap after New Year's. You can sign out and sign in to refresh your client to see updated information.
