Enabling Show Zoom windows during screen share Follow

This meeting feature displays the Zoom desktop application window to other participants when you share your screen. Users can demonstrate actions in the Zoom desktop client and show the meeting toolbar features. Showing the Zoom desktop window during screen share can be useful if a participant is helping you use Zoom.

Note: By default, the Zoom window is not shared while sharing your screen. The Show Zoom windows during screen share option must be enabled in the Zoom web portal before it will appear in the Zoom desktop client.

Prerequisites for showing your Zoom windows during screen share

  • Zoom desktop client
    • Windows: 5.0.0 or higher
    • macOS: 5.0.0 or higher
    • Linux: 5.0.0 or higher
  • Zoom mobile app
    • Android: 5.0.0 or higher
    • iOS: 5.0.0 or higher

How to enable or disable Show Zoom windows during screen share

Account

To enable or disable Show Zoom windows during screen share for all users in the account:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under In Meeting (Basic), click the Show Zoom windows during screen share toggle to enable or disable it.
  5. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
  6. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon unlocked-button.png, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

Group

To enable or disable Show Zoom windows during screen share for a group of users:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit groups.
  2. In the navigation menu, click User Management then Group Management.
  3. Click the applicable group name from the list.
  4. Click the Meeting tab.
  5. Under In Meeting (Basic), click the Show Zoom windows during screen share toggle to enable or disable it.
  6. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.
  7. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in the group, click the lock icon unlocked-button.png, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

User

To enable or disable Show Zoom windows during screen share for your own use:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Settings.
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under In Meeting (Basic), click the Show Zoom windows during screen share toggle to enable or disable it.
  5. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin.
