Setting call control in third-party apps
Last Updated:
Account owners and admins can enable or disable a policy setting for call control in third-party apps that use Zoom Phone. Enabling call control allow users to control calls from 3rd-party apps, including making, accepting, ending, declining, and recording calls.
Third-party apps include those in the Zoom Marketplace. This setting doesn't affect the click-to-dial or highlight-to-dial features.
Prerequisites for enabling or disabling call control in third-party apps
- Pro, Business, or Education account
- Account owner or admin privileges
- Zoom Phone license
How to enable or disable call control in third-party apps
Note: This policy setting can only be changed at the account level.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
- Click the Zoom Phone tab.
- Click the Automatically Call From 3rd Party Apps toggle to enable or disable it:
- If enabled, users can control calls from 3rd-party apps, including making, accepting, ending, declining, and recording calls. When making a call from a third-party app, Zoom will prompt the user and ask if they want to automatically make calls from the associated third-party app. They can also set a duration to determine how long calls will be automatically placed for them. They can change this later in their phone settings. When making a call from the third-party app, Zoom will automatically dial and call the number. If the set duration has passed, Zoom will dial the number, but not call it.
- If disabled, users can't control calls from 3rd-party apps, including making, accepting, ending, declining, and recording calls. When making a call from a third-party app, Zoom will dial the number, but not call it.
