Getting started with Smart Gallery
Last Updated:
Remote meeting attendees may find it difficult to see people clearly when other meeting participants are in a Zoom Room. To address this issue, Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery displays multiple video feeds from a single conference room. This allows the Zoom Room cameras to focus more closely on groups of participants and display these people more clearly to remote attendees. Effective collaboration between remote attendees and Zoom Room participants can be enhanced by the face-to-face meeting experience.

How to set Smart Gallery as the room default view
You can set Smart Gallery as the room default view by toggling the Multi-Stream setting on the Zoom web portal.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Room Management, then click Zoom Rooms.
- You can use the Zoom Rooms location hierarchy to enable Smart Gallery from the account, location, or room settings. For this example, click Account Settings.
- Click the Account Profile tab and scroll down to the Devices heading, then click the radio button
to toggle the Multi-Stream setting.
- (Optional) Click the drop down next to Max Feed Number to limit number of video feeds displayed.
How remote attendees experience Smart Gallery
Remote attendees will be able to access all the available video feeds from the Zoom Room if they are using the Gallery, Side-by-Side, or Thumbnail views, or if they decide to pin a specific video. Each Zoom Room video feed is displayed as a distinct meeting participant with full resolution. These same meeting participants are named after the Zoom Room itself followed by a number: "Conference Room - 2", "Conference Room - 3", etc.
Note: Remote attendees with Poly X30, Poly X50 and Yealink A20 devices will be able to identify the active speaker in a room with Smart Gallery enabled.
Remote attendees with other devices will see the main camera feed from the Zoom Room as the active speaker, even if participants from the other Zoom Room camera feeds are speaking.
