Changes to existing features

New and enhanced features

  • Administrator features
    • Apply branding settings from parent to selected sub accounts
      Account owners and admins can force individual sub accounts to use the same branding settings (e.g. landing page and email templates) as the parent account. These sub accounts will not be able to change branding settings in their own accounts. Previously, account owners and admins could only apply branding settings to all sub accounts at once.
    • Prevent name changes after joining a meeting
      If display names are mapped with SAML mapping, and participants are not allowed to rename themselves, users will be prevented from changing their display name when joining a meeting. This feature requires client version 5.8.3 or higher. This setting is available at the account, group, and user level.
    • Enhancement to SAML mapping for pronouns
      If pronouns are mapped with SAML mapping, account owners and admins can enable an option to prevent users from updating their pronouns from their profile page.
    • Enhancements to bulk user delete
      Account owners and admins will see more detailed error notifications when they try to delete users and certain users could not be deleted. They will also be able to bulk delete deactivated users by uploading a CSV file.
    • Two-way chat with Waiting Room participants
      Account owners and admins can enable the meeting Host and Co-hosts to chat back-and-forth with participants in the Waiting Room. Waiting Room messages can be sent to all participants in the Waiting Room or just individual participants. Only the host/co-host can see responses from those in the Waiting Room. This feature requires client version 5.8.0 or higher. This setting is disabled by default.
    • Enhancement to recording management
      UI enhancements to the recording management page to make it consistent with the rest of the web portal.
    • Enhancement to Dashboard for meetings and webinars
      When users join a meeting or webinar by phone (Dashboard indicates Phone in the Device column), account owners and admins can see the phone number they dialed from and the associated Zoom dial-in number.
    • Control default watermark setting
      Account owners and admins can control how the watermark setting defaults in an individual users’ scheduling workflow. The admin can set a watermark to default on or off when users schedule a meeting
  • User features
    • Enhancement to Inactive Hosts report
      If a login was from a browser, the Client Version column of the Inactive Hosts usage report indicates N/A (browser) instead of being left blank.
    • Automatically detect the Windows OS bit version in the Download Center
      When downloading the Zoom client from the Download Center, the download version automatically detects if a user is on a 64-bit or 32-bit machine, and provides them with the appropriate version to install.
    • Enhancements to Trust and Safety form
      The Trust Form has been enhanced to allow users to report instances of fraud or account takeover to Zoom’s Trust & Safety team.

Release notes for Zoom Phone

Changes to existing features

  • Prompt when changing account owner
    When the account owner is changed and the new account owner does not have a Zoom Phone license, the current owner will see a prompt notifying them that their numbers and Zoom Phone license will be transferred to the new owner. They can choose to continue with the process or cancel it.
  • Configuration checking for emergency locations
    When an account owner or admin specifies a BSSID while defining or editing an emergency location, the system will confirm whether that the BSSID has been duplicated in another location in the account.

    • Reserved Call Park extension
      Phone users can park an existing call to the original park extension before the reserved time expires. If the call is parked again after the expiration time, the call will be parked to a different extension. The default expiration time of 30 seconds can only be changed on request by Zoom.
  • Devices
    • Zero touch provisioning (ZTP) process status
      Account owners and admins can view the ZTP process status for common area phones, unassigned/assigned desk phones, and ATAs when viewing the device list. The unassigned devices only show status in the device detail page. They can also retry the connection to the ZTP server in the case where the first attempt failed.
    • Certified Yealink devices
      Zoom Phone supports the following Yealink devices:
      • W70B DECT base station
      • W73H DECT handset
      • EXP43 expansion module
    • Firmware upgrades
      Certain Yealink devices will receive firmware upgrades. Devices will automatically reboot to upgrade firmware.

  • Resolved an issue where deleted voicemails in call queues’ voicemail inboxes were still visible to members with access to the voicemail inbox

  • Zoom introduces Conference
    New to the Zoom Events platform, Conference allows Zoom Events license holders to host virtual events with concurrent sessions and much more.
  • Create Multi-Day Conferences
    You can now spread your event over several days to give your Attendees and Speakers more flexibility and interactivity.
  • Create Multi-Track Agendas
    Host concurrent sessions to appeal to audience members' interests. You can assign multiple Speakers to sessions and feature sessions in the Conference Lobby to attract more Attendees.
  • Batch Upload Sessions & Speakers
    Speed up event creation by uploading a CSV file with session dates, names, times, descriptions, speakers, and more.
  • Include Session Details with Video
    Prepare attendees for a successful event by sharing relevant pre-session information, such as Speaker bios and session-specific videos.
  • Add an Event Co-Editor
    Share the workload by assigning a Co-Editor to help add Hosts and Co-Hosts, edit sessions, and more.
  • Allow Speakers to Edit their Sessions
    Give Speakers control over their session information by allowing them to set their session start time, date, and duration, as well as select visuals or videos to represent their session. Speakers can now edit their own bios. You can review and approve edits submitted by your Speakers.
  • Conference Itinerary
    Help Attendees find and register for sessions by letting them select/search for their topics of interest and filter sessions by tracks, audiences, products, and levels.
  • Conference Event Page
    Keep track of all your events with:
    • Conference Lobby
    • Session directory
    • Featured sessions in the Home tab.
  • Session Chat
    Create a feeling of community by allowing Attendees to chat with other session Attendees before, during, and after a session.
  • Attendee Networking
    Facilitate new relationships and Attendee networking by letting attendees send contact requests.
  • Livestream to Lobby
    Stream live sessions into the Conference Lobby to give Attendees a preview of what’s going on before joining.
  • Streamlined Attendee Experience
    Attendees can now:
    • Bookmark sessions to build their own event itinerary.
    • Join any session directly from the itinerary.
    • Allow Sponsors to gain visibility with three built-in tiers (Platinum, Gold, and Silver); visible to Attendees from the event page.
  • Custom Event/Session Surveys
    Get some insight into your event with customizable surveys delivered after each session and after the event concludes.
  • Session Recordings
    Your session content can live on after the conference! Recordings are now visible in the Lobby after the event.
  • Analytics & Reporting
    Gain insight with Analytics and Reporting to understand attendance, engagement, and revenue.
  • Add Sponsors in 3 preset tiers
    Add sponsors in three preset tiers: Platinum, Gold, and Silver. Allow sponsors to submit their own content.

  • Edit a summit event
    After publishing a summit, the host can edit sessions and speakers.
