December 20, 2021 version 5.9.0 (253)

New and enhanced features

  • General features
    • Display gender pronouns
If enabled by account admins and added to their profile by either the user directly or through SAML mapping, a user’s gender pronouns are displayed in their contact card and as part of their display name in meetings and webinars.
    • Support for joining Google Meet meetings via PEXIP invite SIP URL
Zoom Rooms can join Google Meet meetings via PEXIP invites with audio and video. Clicking the invite will dial the SIP URL of the meeting.
  • In-meeting features
    • Optional Reclaim Host when rejoining
When the original host of a meeting rejoins, they are now given the option to reclaim host controls or remain as a participant or co-host, in order to not disrupt the current host.
    • Profile pictures return when Focus Mode is turned off
  • Management features
    • Support for Graph API
    • Disable phone controls
Administrators can disable or enable phone controls on Zoom Rooms controllers for rooms without 3rd party SIP or Zoom Phone entitlement. This setting can be disabled on accounts with an active audio plan.
    • Disable in-meeting chat
Administrators can disable the display of in-meeting chat for Zoom Rooms.
    • Improvements for Digital Signage
Administrators can choose to have Digital Signage content displayed whenever the Zoom Room is not in a meeting. A scheduled meeting will not stop the content from being displayed.
    • Zoom Rooms kiosk/virtual receptionist
Administrators can enable kiosk mode which will allow visitors to use the Zoom Room to call a receptionist.
  • Zoom for Home features
    • Support for iPad
Zoom for Home features are accessible on iPad devices using the Zoom Rooms Controller app. This requires iPad OS 14.0 or later.
