Using the Confluence for Team Chat App

This app allows users to stay up-to-date and take action on Confluence pages directly from Zoom Team Chat, so users don’t have to switch back and forth between applications. Users can receive personal notifications, receive page and space notifications, share a page or space, and comment or watch a page.

How to install from the Zoom App Marketplace

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Search for Confluence.
  3. Click Add.
    Note: If the Confluence App is not pre-approved, please contact your Zoom admin.
  4. Review the requested permissions and click Authorize.

How to connect the Team Chat App to your Confluence account

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace as a Zoom account owner or admin.
  2. Search for Confluence and click the app.
  3. Click Add, confirm the permissions the app requires, and choose Allow.
    After installing the app from the Marketplace, you will be redirected to the Connect to Confluence page.
  4. Configure the Application Link.
  5. Enter your company’s Confluence domain, then click Connect.
    You will be redirected to Confluence to confirm the connection.
    Once complete, you and your users will be able to configure their own notifications/subscriptions.

Slash commands for the Confluence App

Once installed, the Confluence app can be used from any Team Chat channel. The following slash commands are available in any 1:1, group chat, or chat channel:

  • /confluence connect
    Enter /confluence connect to connect to your Confluence account.
  • /confluence help
    Enter /confluence help to view a list of all available commands.
  • /confluence notify
    Enter /confluence notify to configure personal notifications within Confluence.
  • /confluence configure
    Enter /confluence configure to view and manage all page and space subscriptions configured for this channel.
  • /confluence disconnect
    Enter /confluence disconnect to disconnect your Confluence account from the current chat or channel.
  • /confluence disconnect all
    Enter /confluence disconnect all to disconnect your Confluence account from all chats and channels.

How to uninstall the Confluence app from the App Marketplace

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Click Manage and then click Added Apps.
  3. Next to the Confluence listing, click Remove.

Data Security

  • This app has access to the following information on Zoom:
    • Zoom user info, including meetings
  • This app has access to the following information on Confluence:
  • Confluence page info: Page Title, Page Space, Page Watcher(s), Page Content, Page Comments, Page Modification Time, Page Creator, Page Editor(s)
  • Confluence configure info: System Webhooks, Product Application links
  • This app has the following permissions on Zoom:
    • Send a chat message to a channel or group chat.
  • Communications between this chat app and Confluence are encrypted:
    • Protocol: TLS 1.2 enforced
    • Use OAuth1.0 to authorize
  • This chat app stores the following information in an encrypted database:
    • Zoom OAuth credentials
    • Confluence page info: Page URL
  • Confluence App information deleted when uninstalled from Marketplace:
    • Confluence page info: Page URL
    • Zoom authorization information: Access token
    • App configuration information: Confluence configure, Webhook URL
