Changing your Zoom Events profile mode

Changing your profile mode informs other event attendees if you want to have other attendees socialize and connect with you, or if you would prefer to reach out yourself. You can even choose to be hidden from view.

You have full control over your profile mode and you can change your mode and edit profile information at any time.

Prerequisites for changing your Zoom Events profile mode

  • Zoom desktop client:
    • Windows: 5.10.6 or higher
    • macOS: 5.10.6 or higher
  • Zoom mobile client
    • iOS: 5.10.6 or higher
    • Android: 5.10.6 or higher
  • Basic, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education account

How to change your profile mode during an event

Change your profile mode during an event on the desktop client

  1. Join a conference event lobby you are registered for.
  2. In the top right corner, click your profile picture.
    Your profile card will open.
  3. Select a mode:
    • Feeling Social
    • Simply Exploring
    • eye-off-button.png Hide Me

Change your profile mode during an event on a mobile or tablet web browser

  1. Join a conference event lobby you are registered for.
  2. In the top right corner, tap the 3 horizontal bars 3_bars.png.
  3. In the navigation menu, tap your profile picture.
    Your profile card will open.
  4. On your profile card, select a Networking mode:
    • Feeling Social
    • Simply Exploring
    • eye-off-button.png Hide Me

How to change your profile mode from your Zoom Events profile settings

Changing your profile mode from your profile settings will allow you to set the default mode you are in when you join an event. If you are currently in an event when you update your mode from the profile settings, your in-event mode will be updated to the mode you select in your profile setting.

To set your default profile mode from your Zoom Events profile settings:

  1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture.
  3. Click User Preferences.
    The My preferences page will appear.
  4. In the navigation menu, click Settings & Notifications.
  5. Under Default Networking Mode, select the default mode for when you join an event:
    • Feeling Social
    • Simply Exploring
    • Hide Me
