Updating your Zoom Events profile information

Updating your profile card to present the most current information about yourself provides other attendees the knowledge they need when reaching out to connect with you, in addition to keeping the connections you've added and/or accepted up to date with your information. 

Changing your profile mode from your profile settings will allow you to set the default mode you are in when you join an event. If you are currently in an event when you update your mode from the profile settings, your in-event mode will update to the mode you select in your profile setting.

You have full control over your profile information and you can edit your profile information and change your mode at any time.

How to update your Zoom Events profile settings

Access your Zoom Events profile settings on a desktop web browser

  1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture, then click Manage Profile.
    You will be directed to the Manage page.
  3. In the Manage page's navigation menu, click the My Profile Card tab.
  4. Under your profile card, click Edit My Profile pencil-button.png.
    The Edit Profile page will appear.
  5. Enter your information to complete your profile in the following sections:

While updating your profile information, you can preview how your profile card will appear to other participants in the right panel.

Basic Information tab

  1. Complete the following information:
    • First Name: Enter your first name.
    • Last Name: Enter your last name.
    • (Optional) Preferred Name: Enter your preferred name.
    • (Optional) Select a pronoun: Click the dropdown menu and select your pronoun.
    • Position: Enter your position at the company you are affiliated with.
    • Company Name: Enter the name of the company you are affiliated with.
    • (Optional) City/District: Enter the city or district you live in.
    • (Optional) Select a country: Click the dropdown menu and select the country you live in.
    • (Optional) Bio: Write an introduction about yourself.
      Note: There is a 210-character limit.
    • (Optional) Bio Theme Colors: Select the colors that will display in your profile.
    • (Optional) Education: Enter the name of the college you studied at and the degree you received.
  2. Click Next to continue editing your profile.
    Note: At the top of the page, you can also click the following:
    • Close: Click Close to exit the Edit Profile page without saving changes.
    • Save and Close: Click Save and Close to save your edits and exit the Edit Profile page.

Photos & Videos tab

  1. Upload images and videos to your profile:
    1. On a tile, click + Add Media to upload an image or video from your computer.
    2. Select an image or video to upload and click Open.
    3. Crop the image, then click Save. The uploaded media will appear on the tile.
    4. Repeat steps to add media to the tiles.
  2. (Optional) Edit your media:
    1. On a tile that has existing media, click Edit Media pencil-button.png.
    2. Select an image or video to upload and click Open.
    3. Crop the image, then click Save.
      The uploaded media will appear on the tile.
  3. (Optional) Delete your media:
    1. On a tile that has existing media, click Delete Media trash-button.png.
      The media will be removed from the tile.
  4. Click Next to continue editing your profile.
    Note: At the top of the page, you can also click the following:
    • Close: Click Close to exit the Edit Profile page without saving changes.
    • Save and Close: Click Save and Close to save your edits and exit the Edit Profile page.

Notes

  • You can only have a maximum of 4 pieces of media.
  • The maximum video size is 50MB, MP4 files only. The video must be less than 60 seconds.
  • The first tile (tile 1) has the Avatar label; this tile's media will be your main profile card media. 

Personal Questions & Interests tab

  1. In the Personal Questions section, answer the prompted questions to tell others more about you.
    Note: You can answer a maximum of 3 questions.
  2. In the Interests section, enter your interests, industries, and topics that you care about in the Tag fields.
    Note: All Tag fields have a maximum of 40 characters.
  3. Click Next to continue editing your profile.
    Note: At the top of the page, you can also click the following:
    • Close: Click Close to exit the Edit Profile page without saving changes.
    • Save and Close: Click Save and Close to save your edits and exit the Edit Profile page.

Social Media tab

Note: Your social media information is only visible to connections.

  1. Enter your social media information in the following fields:
    • (Optional) LinkedIn URL: Enter the link to your LinkedIn profile.
    • (Optional) Twitter URL: Enter the link to your Twitter account.
    • (Optional) Instagram URL: Enter the link to your Instagram account.
    • Email Address: Enter your email address. This will be your displayed email address.
    • (Optional) Phone number: Enter your phone number.
  2. Click Save.
    Note: At the top of the page, you can also click the following:
    • Close: Click Close to exit the Edit Profile page without saving changes.
    • Save and Close: Click Save and Close to save your edits and exit the Edit Profile page.

Access your Zoom Events profile settings in the mobile or tablet web browser

  1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
  2. In the top-right corner, tap your profile picture, then tap Manage Profile.
    You will be directed to the Manage page.
  3. In the Manage page's navigation menu, tap the My Profile Card tab.
  4. Under your profile card, tap Edit My Profile pencil-button.png.
    The Edit Profile page will appear.
  5. Enter your information to complete your profile in the following sections:

Notes

How to update your profile card information after joining an event

Update your profile card information after joining an event on the desktop client

  1. Join an event lobby you are registered for.
  2. In the top right corner, click your profile picture.
    Your profile card will open.
  3. Click the pencil icon .
    Your profile card will now be in edit mode.
  4. Change your profile media (image or video):
    1. On your profile card's media, click Change Photo/Video .
    2. Select an image or video to upload and click Open.
    3. Crop the image, then click Save.
      The uploaded media will appear.
  5. Click a field to edit the information:
    • Name: Update your name.
    • Position: Update your position.
    • Company: Update your company.
  6. (Optional) At the top of the profile card, click Go to my Profile to access your Zoom Events profile settings.
  7. Click Save changes.

Update your profile card after joining an event on a desktop web browser

  1. Join an event lobby you are registered for.
  2. In the top right corner, click your profile picture.
    Your profile card will open.
  3. Click the pencil icon .
    Your profile card will now be in edit mode.
  4. Change your profile media (image or video):
    1. On your profile card's media, click Change Photo/Video .
    2. Select an image or video to upload and click Open.
    3. Crop the image, then click Save.
      The uploaded media will appear.
  5. Click a field to edit the information:
    • Name: Update your name.
    • Position: Update your position.
    • Company: Update your company.
  6. (Optional) At the top of the profile card, click Go to my Profile to access your Zoom Events profile settings.
  7. Click Save changes.

Update your profile card after joining an event on a mobile or tablet web browser

  1. Join an event lobby you are registered for.
  2. In the top right corner, tap the 3 horizontal bars 3_bars.png.
  3. In the navigation menu, tap your profile picture.
    Your profile card will open.
    Note: To fully access your Zoom Events profile settings, tap My Profile in the navigation menu.
  4. Under your profile picture, tap pencil-button.png Edit profile.
    Your profile card will open in edit mode.
  5. Tap a field to edit the information:
    • Name: Update your name.
    • Position: Update your position.
    • Company: Update your company.
  6. Tap Save changes.

How to update your basic profile

Guest users—users who do now have a Zoom Events account—are provided a basic profile which they can add information to when they join an event.

  1. Join an event lobby you are registered for.
    A pop-up window will appear asking you to create your guest profile.
  2. Click Create guest profile.
    A template of the basic profile will appear.
  3. Click a field to edit the information:
    • Change photo: Change your profile picture.
    • First Name: Update your first name.
    • Last Name: Update your last name.
    • Position: Update your position.
    • Company: Update your company.
  4. Click the Save changes button.

Note: In the top-right corner of the basic profile template, click Create a full profile to create a Zoom Events profile.
