Using End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) during a Zoom Phone call

If your account owner or admin enabled End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) for your account, this feature will help add an extra layer of privacy to your phone calls occurring over Zoom. You will be able to quickly switch your calls to be encrypted when necessary, and if your calls are automatically recorded, you will see an option to stop the recording to make the switch if you are allowed to stop your recording.
Notes:
- E2EE is not supported when calling a phone number other than a Zoom Phone number
- E2EE is not supported on Zoom certified deskphones except Zoom Phone Appliances
- Calling from a Zoom Room, or the Web Client is not supported
- The following features will be disabled when using E2EE:
- Automatic call recording and Ad hoc recording
- Call flip
- Call monitoring
- In-call controls such as merge, transfer
- DTMF codes and tones
- Hold music and hold music setting
- Park or unpark a call
- Share line appearance and share line group pick up
- Switch to carrier
- Elevate the call to a NON E2EE meeting
Prerequisites for using End-to-End Encryption during a Zoom Phone call
- Zoom Phone license
- End-to-End Encryption enabled for caller and callee
- Caller and callee are in the same Zoom account with automatic call recording disabled
Note: If automatic call recording is enabled, admin must allow user to stop recording for E2EE to work. - Desktop or mobile client version 5.11.3 or higher
- Supported Zoom Phone Appliance
How to use End-to-End Encryption during a Zoom Phone call
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop or mobile client.
- While in call, click the More button.
- Click the End-to-End Encryption icon.
Your call will switch to encryption, otherwise you will see an error message stating the call cannot be encrypted.- If your call is being recorded, and you are allowed to stop the recording, a dialog box will appear to stop the recording.
- Click Stop Recording to switch your call to encryption, then click Stop Recording This Time or Always Stop Recording.
- If your call is being recorded, and you are allowed to stop the recording, a dialog box will appear to stop the recording.
